Maybe one of you should click on the Report button and explain to the Forum Team exactly how this issue is causing problems.

I always do that with genuine fault reports. @MSE_Ben_H replied on the thread 28 February at 11:30AM and I presume they have been working on it since then. I have been editing the title and bumping every day since then.

Could not find competitions using the end date search again tonight and seriously I am getting so frustrated because this is how I enter most of my daily competitions. This used to be my favourite & main website for entering my competitions. However I am quickly loosing my patience, because it's terrible now. You have had plenty of time to sort out any bugs and this just isn't good enough. I don't normally get angry. But I love entering competitions & I don't have time out up with this complicated way of entering them in the evening. Used to enter at lunchtime at work on my phone too. Please sort out this soon guys

As suggested by Wig (thank you!) here's the best way to contact the Forum Team.

We regularly check the Site Feedback board and do our best to reply where we can (we have a team rota)
If that happens and you feel we haven't seen something urgent here's how you can get in touch with us:

Report an issue to us the usual way by clicking on the report button in the post.

Feel free to post the issue on the Site Feedback board then click the report button on your post to let us know. Your query will then go into our Zendesk queue and be picked up quickly. Many forum users already do this to let us know about an issue. Make sure you explain why you're reporting your own post :)

You can also PM me with the links to threads too.

If you've done the above we will be aware. If you still don't think we are, though, you can private message me.
Posting here so that I can follow the 2nd step in the above (from the Contacting the Forum Team thread).
The first step above "We regularly check the Site Feedback board"  is clearly is not working effectively.

I don't expect the second (clicking the report button) to have much impact as this has already been done, but I'll do it anyway to follow the process.

The 3rd step is also likely to be pointless due to the author of the thread being a former MSE team member.

The search fault is a serious and growing problem which has been ongoing for over a week now with no response from the Forum Team.  I accept that it may take time to fix or the forum team might have higher priorities, but can we have some info or comment from the team please to at least acknowledge the problem and advise when to expect a fix or interim updates?

    Hi everyone,
We are aware of the issue and still working it through. We appreciate when things are flagged up bust rest assured it's on our list (at the top). Though it doesn't always appear to be, search is very complex so we want to make sure that when we fix things, it doesn't introduce further bugs for other search queries or behaviours.
If anything new arises, please do let us know but want to reassure everyone we're aware of this particular issue and it is being worked on.
Thanks for your patience and sorry that it's happening in the first place.
    Ben
Thanks for getting back to us Ben. I just don't understand why the search was working awhile back. But now I can't see any results from since the 26th February even though I know there are some. So bizarre.

It's quite likely because, late on 26th, a fix was put in to cure a fault affecting posts made on 24/02. The fault stopping comps posted on 24th appearing in search was cured but any posts after the time that the fix went in, are not being included. See posts 1 & 2 of this thread. So one fix introduced worse problems.

Fault is now over a week old and 33% of all live competitions are now invisible to Search

Sometimes searching a thread for a word that is definitely in it (to go back to a previously read post) doesn't work.

e.g. search this thread for any single one of the words Report behaving Sometimes work

    No results
