I’m being furloughed from Friday. Will make life easier for homeschooling but need to find the extra 20% or cut my budget!
Baked some bread, not sure if it’s successful will taste tomorrow.
Ran out of ink in our printer I did order last week so will see if turns up.This month feels as long as January ha ha!!Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£2607 -

Confusing day. Washed clothes on Sunday night, did the drain and spin10 minute programme this morning and hung them all out on the line (dull but never actually rained). Took mince out of the freezer on Sunday night for chilli. Used all the remaining leeks, some passata and a squirt of tomato puree, the sad looking half a cabbage, the stalk from the broccoli, two cans of kidney beans, a leftover half a tin of baked beans. Mum said she didn't like the way it smelled so I added 3 handfuls of pearl barley to soak up all the liquid and it's yum. Put it all into a large flan dish as it had started to stick to the bottom of the pan.Went out and started to assemble the poly tunnel (set off some seeds on Friday and took out the chilli plants that arrived earlier in the week). It's easy to assemble but location is proving tricky. Where mum wanted me to put it (other than not in her yard) is to the side and as there was originally a drive it slopes off to one side. Where i wanted to put it interferes with the clothesline. The clothesline is a pull out one so I was hoping to put a hook in the shed to divertit slightly but one of mum's partner's sons broke it so it won' pull out further.Cooked a batch of baked potatoes whilst watching a film (did all the pricking during the beginning and left them in until the film ended) which we both had for tea and I had a little lie down (felt worn out and hoped a rest would revive me - there's so much I want to do).Watched tv with um for a while. Messages from DS2 and DS3. DS2 went to get the trolley full of things I had to leave behind. DS3 had a slight cold and DS2 said it could be the virus so hasn't brought my things. He phoned and will bring some things tomorrow (they are double bin bagged so can be slit open and the contents poured out without him touching them. He has wiped down the shopping items I asked him to bring. Messaged DS3 with instructions for another item on the trolley which will need to be disposed of.Today I am grateful for good food, using all the leftovers, self-assembly that worksMy mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8

Day 31It's the small habits. How you spend your mornings. How you talk to yourself. What you read. What you watch. Who you share your energy with. Who has access to you. That will change your life. How To Boost Your Seratonin (mood balancing molecule)Eliminate sugar and syrups even if they are naturalEat fermented foods (vegetable probiotics)Eat bright coloured vegetablesEat seedsGet negative ions - clean air, ocean breeze, cold showersSpend time in natureEat vegetable oilsGet sunlightEat pineappleEat pecansSometimes I mentally punish myself for unproductive days, but then I remind myself that breaks are necessary. Don't feel guilty for putting something on pause temporarily while you reconnect with yourself to find balance. Remember your health and family come first.Remember that you are WATER. Cry. Cleanse. Flow. Let goRemember that you are FIRE. Burn. Tame. Adapt. IgniteRemember that you are Air. Observe. Breathe. Focus. DecideRemember that you are EARTH. Ground. Give. Build. mothernerd - my sense of humour is very dark but I mostly keep it just between DH and myself.I got a full load of washing dry on the line yesterday, caught up with all the ironing, walked the dog, did some little painting jobs that I'd been putting off and managed to get the kids to take the dog out for half an hour after tea. Whilst I was out I passed some neighbours in their garden, they had their second baby last week, I talked to them over the gate and saw the baby, really glad they are all ok as I was worried how it would all go under the circumstances. Poor old grandparents have only seen the baby through a window. Glad the milkman came yesterday as we had completely run out, he must be getting very busy as he is getting later and later.Hoping to get out for a run today, do some cleaning and some reading, I have some mash, carrots, cabbage and stuffing in the fridge which I am going to make into bubble and squeak along with some Richmond veggie sausages (love these) for tea for DH and me. Not sure what I will do for the kids. I might make a butternut squash curry today for tea tomorrow and either make the rest of the squash into spicy soup or roast it, soup is probably the most cost effective thing to do.I don't need to go grocery shopping for another couple of days, I normally go to the zero waste shop for dry goods but it is quite a distance from home and I used to combine it with a visit to the town and a walk on the moors or I would cycle there and back, non of which is doable at the moment, I need rice, pasta and flour but have yet to see any of these things on the shelves. There are people buying flour on ebay and paying a fortune for it.Thanks for running March mothernerd. Not what you expected I imagine. See you all in April.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Last day of the month - purse still has money in it, bank still has a week's worth of budget in it, only £100 on cc to be paid off - will come out of budget excess - Tomorrow is payday and bills out day.Volunteered x 2 shifts yesterday, and I am back in this afternoon. It is annoying that some people are so good with the whole 2m distance rule, and then some people are right in your space and you have to keep backing away.I am getting quite good at stage whispering gossip now over a 2m distance.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Thank you mothernerd for March. A unique month.Today I am grateful that I can still do my job online, for a surprise du0 call from my friend in Spain, for dd getting some hwk done, for watching the Angry Birds movie, for my counselling session (via skyp3), for being given 18 eggs and 10 apples and some seed potatoes, for my kettlebell workout, for sweet-smelling daffs (the ones with multiple small flowers on a stalk) that remind me of my dad.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6
