New Virgin RS released, issue 17, however paying only 1% so giving this issue a miss!!
Yes no point in that. I’m still getting1.15% from Marcus.
I'm not in it for 1% either, but VM RS is fixed at that rate for a year...

What are peoples Marcus rates going to be in two months? And this one is fixed.

I'm in - pay the minimum in for a couple of months and see where we are.

I've got dozens of RS - most of which I pay the full allowed into but a few that i pay smaller amounts incase things turn e.g.:

    Santander 0.75 - £10/pm
    Mansfield 1.0 - £10/pm
    Buckingham 0.95 - £10/pm
    Hanley 0.6 - £20/pm

It is likely that there will be no easy access accounts offering anywhere near 1% in a few months, let alone a year.

Sadly, you may well be right. It wasn’t very long ago that I was able to open the Virgin2% regular saver. However for the moment I have enough others not to need a 1% one.

Yes, but for how long? Virgin is fixed.

    Coventry - another rate reduction.
Just for the record...the interest rate on the old Stroud and Swindon regular saver will have its fourth reduction in less than a year.  Will reduce on 09 July to 1.80%.

Kent Reliance will accept postal applications (phone HQ to be sent the forms) and open the RS account.  You will need to specify a branch from which you will (eventually) collect the passbook but payments in can be made in the meantime remotely by internet banking etc.
If the  passbook is collection in person from the branch only than there is no use at all as you will still need to travel. It is much simple if you just go there, and open it at the same day

Also it is flexible and instant where you could transfer it out anytime you want to without penalty. Also unlike the post office saving account the FPO is reliable.
In my opinion, you could keep small amount in it and optimise it in the future where there is no better alternative, all other instant ac are paying less than 1%.

On the Bucks RS Locals, I got this account a while back when it was 2%, by being an existing customer even though not in their postcode areas. With unlimited withdrawals, I use it as an instant access account
hat is my personal experience for withdawal you will need to send your passbok !!
Is there any way to request the transfer to the link account without the need to send your passbook ??
