Both are online and showing on the overview page: https://www.monbs.com/savings/personal-savings-accounts-general-savings/

EDIT: Applied for both accounts now. The terms on the Exclusive Reg Saver are a bit vague imho. Let's see if they honour it with me having applied yesterday for an Easy Saver or not.
You need to have funds in an account to be eligible for the Exclusive account, I’ve held off applying for both as not heard a peep on the easy access application.
Yes, that's true and the question is now if they honour application date or actual opening date. Technically speaking, with every savings provider I was able to verify ID electronically straight away and open the account. if they provide details digitally I fund with at least £1 or whatever the minimum is straight away and you get an email confirmation that your account is open. E.g. Cahoot, opened and got details and email straight away but took 4 days to get letters with codes to actually access the account.

In todays digital world you could expect that this is the process. If they would put a note up and say, we need to verify xyz manually, you at least know before you apply the process and that it is not instant.

Any paper copies and letters will arrive while I am on holiday anyway so will deal with that as and when.

I hope their AGM meeting today is going to discuss IT and IT infrastructure and importantly, IT security. Still baffled that they seem to have not invested more in this area after their Christmas Saver experience to connect the electronic ID verification system.

Online applications appear to be back again.
  • Online applications appear to be back again.
Looks like they've added some bits to the application, so must've taken it offline to add those in.  Just had a quick look at first couple of steps and there are additional questions around source of funds, and on the second page around when you started residing at current address.  Maybe other additions later on in the app process.

It's a totally different form now. The first version online seemed more tailored to the regular saver and gave you a free text field at the end for any additional info and linked back to the terms and summary box. The form now, OH applied just now for both, is the same as for the Easy Saver and seems very generic.

I wonder how long it will take before they take it offline again. Once it is on MSE front page or thisismoney.co.uk and other news outlets they will get swamped with applications.

They seem to be all maxed out and over the floor already. When you try calling them, they hang up on you before you even get to talk to a person.

Currently going through the application process for the MBS 7%, and have reached section 7, including '... I will transfer my rights... windfall conversion benefits...'
    What's that all about?
  • Don't Monmouth BS proof read what they load online? The website shows the new Regular Saver account interest as 7% variable but when you select the Regular Saver it changes to 7% fixed! However further down it does then have: "Not suitable for you if:

FileCross red circlesvg - Wikimedia Commons  You would like a fixed interest rate on your savings.

It's to stop carpetbaggers voting to sell off the few remaining mutuals.

Its been going on for about 35 years. When building societies used to get bought out, members (customers) would receive shares. They put a stop to that years ago, by getting you to sign your rights away
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?
