Santander has an RS paying 5.00% fixed (12 months, max £200 pm).  I haven't seen it on here so I imagine it might be new today.  Seems like a big improvement on their previous RS rate.

Thanks for this. It's been a long time since I stopped "RSing" with Santander. Their RS offers were rubbish in the past few years. This one is good, doesn't require to have 123 or Edge, very straight forward.

Must have a Santander current account to open it.
Now I just need a new switching campaign so I can open a current account. Missed out on the one earlier in the year not kind of not want to waste the opportunity by opening a current account with them without switching incentive.

The last 3 switching offers have been available to existing customers too, albeit requiring a branch visit.

Does anyone have a Santander RS without first having a First Direct (FD) and/or club Lloyd's RS. If yes, any particular reason(s) for this?, Considering FD and club Lloyd's RS's are both higher interest

I don't hold the FD regular saver because I'm holding out till I'm eligible for the FD switching incentive first and also their app isn't compatible with my smartphone. If they launch a switching incentive I'm eligible for that pays more than or not much less than the cost of a compatible phone I shall grab the regular saver and the switching incentive.

Lloyds are closing all my accounts on Friday so I won't be able to hold the Club Lloyds regular saver for this reason.

Thus from Friday I will hold the Santander regular saver but not the FD or Lloyds regular savers.

I hold all 3, but someone may not want the FD one if they may need to access the funds, and don't wish to incur a large penalty. Also, some may wish to open a savings account with their own bank rather than opening a 2nd current account. Although lots of forumites, myself included, have many current accounts with many providers

Darn I used my Santander current account to get the TSB switch bonus a couple months ago so I no longer hold one.  Oh well, hopefully my credit rating is still decent enough to open another one with them :)

Many thanks for this. My account is now open and funded.
Did you fund this by a standing order starting today? This is what I did but no transfer has been made as yet.

Initially it said the next payment on this standing order mandate was 16/05/2023 but now it says the next payment is on 16/06/2023.

Update: The initial payment has been taken in the last hour, so all is good.

Santander also have a message as I log in to the app that they are doing planned maintenance to mobile banking at 21:45 today until 7am tomorrow. Services will be available as normal but if you experience any difficulties please try after these times.

Were you able to immediately fund the RS by transferring from your Santander current account or have you had to set up a standing order. I have just applied for the RS and it would be nice if I could transfer £200 straight in and set up a standing order for the 1st of next month.

*The Santander RS operates by account month, therefore you cannot fund today and also on the 1st. If opened today and funded today, you can only add to it next time from 16th June:

"Your month is calculated by the date that you open your Regular eSaver, e.g. you open the Regular eSaver on the 16th of a month, your month will run from 16th of one month to the 15th of the next month." ~ Key Facts Document*
