@Expotter
So you can cancel your SO and create another for ASAP this month. Once that pays out, cancel again and create another for 1st March to repeat monthly.
This requires manually entering the details of your Regular Saver as a payee because the First Direct interface doesn’t provide an option to set up regular payments to internal accounts. The Regular Saver specifically also does not appear as a payee for one-off payments either, and any attempt to make a manual payment into it (via new payee details) will result in an error.
Whether you can make multiple SO payments in a calendar month (totalling the deposit limit or less), I haven’t risked testing. Perhaps it’s possible considering your current SO is scheduled for two payments in March.
HSBC’s interface is less restrictive in that the Regular Saver does appear as a payee for both one-off and regular payments, but the same restrictions likely apply, such as bouncing any incoming deposit that isn’t specifically a standing order from your current account.1 -

I tried NS&I yesterday and after only about four transactions, was asked to verify each one after that in the NatWest app. So I gave up and switched to PayPal.Bridlington1 said:
I instead make deposits into the NS&I direct saver by debit card to avoid actually buying things which works quite well.

What happens in practice if you don’t fund HSBC (and I suppose First Direct) with the £25 minimum?0

Does the TSB monthly saver allow a 13th payment?0

Is the TSB monthly saver a calendar month or from opening. I know in the past it was a calendar month so you could change the date to 1st monthly, but this time all I can find is once per month mentioned and must be paid within the first 30 days from opening.0
