Scottish Building Society Regular Saver (not currently available to new appliants)
I've received notification by letter this morning that the rate on the above will drop from 2% to 1.35% wef 15 May.
Another bummer.

I have yet to receive my notice from them. Do they allow early closure?0 -
Nothing in the letter saying you can close the account but I think the rukes of the account allow closure without penalty before maturity. Will need to look at my paperwork though. No info on the website as the account has been withdrawn to new applicants.colsten said:

I've also had a letter from Scottish Building Society. My T&Cs from August 2019 indicate that you can close the account without penalty before the anniversary date, and that part withdrawals are not allowed. I'm going to let mine run off, but I'll probably cut my monthly deposit to a nominal £ amount.colsten said:

I have just logged into my Monmouthshire BS account as I was expecting the matured funds to be sent to my nominated bank account today. The Regular Saver was showing with the interest added. But on the left there was a closure button so to speed things up I have arranged and should be sent to my bank account today as before 2pm"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"1

In the past few weeks the financial forums here have suffered from a proliferation of dubious posts and posters, even one or two on this thread. COVID has meant those dubious poster have more time on their hands to annoy, but reality will resume one day.liamcov said:
Complaining about 'irrelevant rubbish' being posted on this thread is the same as complaining about too many cars on the road etc etc.... it ain't gonna change, so why get worked up about it? If you're getting too many notifications then change your settings and be late to the party when something new and exciting is announced.veryintrigued said:
Didn't there used to be an MSE RS thread that people used to use for their 'went to website, printed off form, filled in form, wrote on envelope, licked stamp etc' sort of chit chat whilst leaving this thread for new issues only?.Nick_C said:OK. Can't take any more of the irrelevant rubbish on here, so I'm unsubscribing.
SS2, thanks for all the help these thread provided over the years.
That used to the convention anyway.
I for one like the 'irrelevant rubbish' as these accounts need further explanation with all the conditions (and just lately) rate cuts left, right and centre, and I'd rather do that on this very comprehensive thread rather than be diverted to several others on this forum that I don't tend to explore.
What is relevant to one is irrelevant to another, therefore people should just skim over those which have no meaning to them, it's so easy and quick to do.
There are some regular posters here who at times do try to dictate what should be posted and where stuff should be posted. As I see it the majority of posts follow the guidelines below, but a quick reminder of SS2s opening post won't hurt.
I am happy for people to use this thread to discuss the regular savings accounts on this list. If people want to discuss one of the feeder accounts or a maturing account that is no longer on this list, I am happy for people to post something on this thread (as it may be of interest to some of the people who follow this thread),

What is your date of maturity? Mine is tomorrow. Wasn't expecting anything before Monday and my balance just now is as before.typistretired said:I have just logged into my Monmouthshire BS account as I was expecting the matured funds to be sent to my nominated bank account today. Today 24th April 2020. The money is now in my bank account £64.75 interest."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"1

Contacted Kent Reliance on Twitter and they confirmed this - Issue 3 and 4 are not considered separate accounts so it is one regular saver (of any issue) per person. Didn't want to call at the moment as I'm sure they're dealing with more urgent enquiries than this.colsten said:
I was told you cannot have iss 4 if you still have iss 3. Would be interesting to see if you get a different answer if you call them.eddie7612 said:Did anyone find out if the new Kent Reliance Issue 4 regular saver is available to those who have the previous Issue 3. The terms say "Maximum one account per person." but is that one regular saver (of all issues) or one per issue?4 -
My interest is added (£64.88, 29p less than the amount suggested in their maturity letter!) but I couldn't spot the withdrawal button. As it's weekend I've left it. After all I may get 29p extra on Monday!typistretired said:Today 24th April 2020. The money is now in my bank account £64.75 interest.1
