Chorley Seasonal Saver Issue 1 (maturing 31 October 2022)

I got my maturity papers in the post this morning. They are offering (like last year and the year before) to rollover £1 into the same account name but with a maturity date of 31 October 2023. The new interest rate from 1 November will be 2.30% variable (against 1.75% currently on the present issue). The problem with this account is that neither withdrawal nor early closure is allowed until maturity. The terms do allow early closure if the interest rate goes down. However (as was the case with last year's issue) the interest rate may not go down but not go up very much, thereby becoming uncompetitive against other accounts, and there is no right to close. I have decided to do the rollover to the new account but will restrict monthly payments from November to the minimum of £25. This will keep my foot in the Chorley door in case of great things ahead (unlikely).
Looks like they've increased the minimum.

    I've paid £5 x 12 (plus initial £1) into the current issue.

Was last year £1 per month?  If it's £25 pm this year, I probably won't bother.

Thanks Hattie for the info. Like you, I will probably allow the £1 rollover. This year the minimum payment was £1 or no payment each month.  I have seldom paid more than £1. Has the terms changed?

Likewise. I was happy to keep going with £1 (my SO is £10 actually) and would continue to do so but at £25, I won't play any longer for 2.3%.

It's probably obvious when I'm told the answer but I have the
Virgin Home Buying Coach Regular Saver 11
and I can't find my balance in the app.

It's a bit strange. The accompanying letter says that there is a minimum monthly pay-in of £25. However, the account terms only mention a maximum monthly pay-in of £250. There is certainly no mention of a "penalty" for not paying in each month (eg downgrade of the account, as is sometimes threatened for missing monthly payments).

You can only view and manage it in online banking, not via the app. You need to use their savings login

I opened a Cambridge Building Society Extra Reward Regular Saver, paying 5.00% in October 2021.

The Cambridge withdrew the regular saver from new applicants earlier in the year, leaving only the Reward Regular Saver (paying 3.00%) available to new applicants.

I just received an e-mail this morning from The Cambridge regarding the maturity of my account.

They are giving members with a maturing Extra Reward Regular Saver, exclusive access to invest their savings into another Extra Reward Regular Saver with a savings rate of 5.00% AER.  You can save up to £250 per month and the maximum investment is £3,000.

I just thought I would mention this offer, as some of you may have a Cambridge Extra Reward Regular Saver that will be maturing soon.

    Well done Cambridge Building Society!
    That's interesting.

Mines.due to mature and I'd already set my instructions.

I've not received any email and when I go back into change my maturity instructions I get only the following options.

Do you get the 5% option online for yours?
