    New Virgin Money Regular E-Saver released. Rate now reduced to1.50%

    Not going to bother for 1.50%  shame, though expected.

    Rate is fixed, and unlimited penalty-free withdrawals allowed, so I'm considering opening one. 1.5% might look quite attractive in a few months time.

    There really isn't anything to lose opening one, as you say fixed rate and penalty free withdrwals  means can soon change your mind and move it if something better comes along which I seriously doubt will be anytime soon.

    Unless you have the funds paying higher elsewhere. Might be more advantageous (but not by much) to delay opening until just before issue 17 would be due (Mid June?).

    Other than my Al Rayan still at 1.6% for another wee while I cant think of any easy access accounts people will have that will not be below this already? Next 2 highest payers are Marcus (1.45 soon to be 1.35) and Principality (1.43 but expecting a drop anytime) so for the 0.1% until Al Rayan drops I think worth the risk in case they withdraw this issue and next one is at 1%!! I was expecting issue 16 in mid May as issue 15 just came out less than a month ago so they might not get to Mid June before dropping issue 17 at reduced rate.

    Seems Kent Reliance have now moved onto issue 4 of their Regular Saver, down to 2% (from 3%), still upto £500 pay-in, variable interest rate and permitted withdrawls.

    I have a KR easy access account (issue 35), opened on-line, which still pays 1.43%.   And I would have opened a regular savings account with KR if it didn't perversely insist on this being done only in-branch.   Despite living in Kent, I have no branch nearer than some 15 miles away and little reason to travel there (and none at all during present restrictions!).   I fail to see why KR should impose this condition, especially not for an existing member.

    We're talking peanuts really, but it counts even moreso with these meagre rates.
    I have Al Rayan at 1.60 until 1 June and Cynergy at 1.55 until 28 Aug unless there are more reductions, but that's crystal ball territory.
    Might just open Issue 16 and minimally fund for now to cover all angles. Shame Virgin doesn't permit rollovers like some others do.

    My deposit, which wasn't showing first thing this morning in my Monmouthshire Saver Plus, has now appeared, with a date of yesterday, when I FPed it.This is good!

    I will ignore that the deposit is described as a Standing Order as it doesn't matter that it wasn't, and that the Date Opened shows as 01/01/0001 🤣 . I will, however, have to check back tomorrow, or Monday, as the interest rate currently shows as 0.00%.

    As an aside: as expected, I have not had any letter / email / secure message telling me they received the signatory form, and that it is now possible to transact on the account.
    @colsten
    @surreysaver
    You'll be chuffed to hear that due to being patient (and without any need to call them, message them or berate them on here) I've received the passbooks and a covering letter stating that the account is now 'up and running' and thanking me for returning your '... Signatory form' X 2.

    As expected.....

    Glad for you. I haven't berated them, and I have received notification that my account is ready for using because I have messaged them. If I hadn't, I'd still be waiting, unknowing whether I should be worried or not
    I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?
