I opened one last Tuesday night and got all the info in the post Friday morning. You can fund it immediately, using the account number in the title of the welcome email.
Well, that worked well. Exactly the same time frame for me.

2% fixed is definitely my minimum going forward but I have no more maturing until late October.

Poor explanation on my part. I meant I will not be taking out any further RS with a fixed rate less than 2% for the foreseeable future.

The small saver only allows a maximum investment of £50 a month for 2%.

The 12 months fixed member regular saver may be more suitable - if you qualify to open one (been a member of the Saffron for at least 12 months) - as that pays 1.75% and allows you to save up to £500 a month.

You can't have both at the same time - so I have opted for the latter given the monthly investment allowed is ten times higher.

Sure. Many on here will not qualify for the 2% one because they already have the 1.75% one, which they took out or upgraded to beginning of February when Issue 9 became available. The 2% one is still a lovely account for those who for one reason or another don't want the 1.75% one.

Im using the small saver to build up the 12 months qualifying membership for the full fat RS. Obviously hoping that such a product still exists come Mar 23!

  • I'm looking to stop monthly payments into my regular savers paying 1%.

Do I have to pay in the minimum amount each month into the following accounts?
    - First Direct (min £25)
    - HSBC (min £25)
    - Lloyds - Club Lloyds Monthly Saver (min £25)
    - TSB (min £25)
    - Monmouthshire BS - Regular Saver Bond Issue 5 (min not stated)
The two Principality BS regular savers I hold (Maturity Christmas Regular Saver Bond and Regular Saver Bond Issue 24) say you don't need to pay in each month so I've cancelled my standing orders for these.
I appreciate the Lloyds and TSB accounts allow instant access penalty free withdrawals but it'd be easier just to stop the regular payments.
Many thanks in advance and apologies because I guess this has been covered up-thread.
