I just applied for the Saffron small saver; any body have any idea how quick they are getting online applications sorted for new customers?

Also does anyone ever check the balances of these accounts? Just checked online and got a shock only £1 was showing but then realised they must not include the passbook accounts on there.

Yes, it shows you once logged in.

Passbook (the 2 above) accounts show full balance.

I opened one last Tuesday night and got all the info in the post Friday morning. You can fund it immediately, using the account number in the title of the welcome email.

Loughborough Building Society Save to buy.

I already had this account since July 2019. The last communication I received was in August 2020 about the interest drop from 3% to 1.5%. The Last summary on my record are

- You could still put up to £500 a month subject to limit £6000 a year and up to £24,000 in total.

- Three withdrawals per account year are allowed leaving a minimum balance of £10, or closure, without notice. Closure counts as one withdrawal.
- Closure/withdrawal requests can be made at a branch or agency or by post. The passbook must be presented for each withdrawal.

Is the interest still 1.5% and the withdrawal condition still the same ?? Thanks

The account was converted into a Loughborough Flexible Save To Buy.  It allows up to 3 penalty-free withdrawals per year of any amount, as long as £10 remains in the account.  The maximum account balance is £24,000.

The interest rate is currently (at the time of writing this post) 1.50%

Well, that worked well. Exactly the same time frame for me.

2% fixed is definitely my minimum going forward but I have no more maturing until late October.
