Yorkshire Building Society have launched a new regular saver.

‘Make me a saver’ pays 1% on up to £150 per month until 31st Jan 2023.

Unlimited withdrawls and some sort of prize draw of £1500 a month for 10 people aslong as the balance increases by atleast £50 a month.

Not great returns but hey ho!

Unlimited withdrawals makes it good enough to open and the monthly prize draw from March onwards makes it a little more interesting each month, looks like this may be catching on as  Nationwide do similar. Those in Northern Ireland cannot open the account due to the gambling laws there.

Possible they keep this for a while, they'll have a lot of members regular savers paying 3.5% maturing in about 6 weeks time.

They may be trying to catch a few with this rather than offer a new eye-catching account.

Yes, I was thinking this too. I have that Reg Saver maturing… has anyone with the 3.5% contacted them about transferring theirs to the new offering, or are you just going to open the new one?
Think I’ll give them a call tomorrow
  • I just opened the new YBS one online the other regular saver matures 24th February but no more payments allowed in.

Following the Bank of England increasing the base rate on 16 December 2021, we are increasing the rate on the majority of our variable savings accounts by 0.10% on 1 February 2022. We will update this site in due course with the complete range of savings products and the new rates applied

Hopefully, this might apply to the new "Make Me A e-Saver" which is a variable rate.
