  • sorry if I am being thick but what do you mean by a 'credit slip'
    Thanks
    I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
    The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
    I listen all night for your step on the stair.

    Sorry, I wasn't thinking properly when I typed.  I meant a deposit slip for the account I wanted to use as my nominated account, as proof that it was my account.

  • Re Darlington BS Special Occasion RS

    The instructions say post the form to your local branch. So today I've posted my application for the Easy Saver to the Northallerton branch: it's not exactly local but, at 250 miles from my home, it is the closest.  Plus, with Bettys cafe just down the street from the branch, I might even go there some day.

    I sent mine to the Sentinel House address in Darlington as they are at the other end of the country to me  o:)

    Mine matured on Saturday and the funds were credited to my external account same day but with tomorrows date. It makes a change from having funds credited either at 1700 when you cant really do anything with them or waiting 2 or 3 days because BACS has been used.

    Your link to the Principality xmas saver takes me to the MonBS website.

    The principality account paying 1.05% is on their website under “maturing savings accounts”
    Thanks, all sorted now and post above updated.

  • Need money from my Tipton, I did not realise are very strict in withdrawal/closure, in that nether is possible before maturity. I needed the money for a house purchase. Yes its a fixed rate saver what did I expect, but all the others allowed me to leave early and lose the interest. My own fault I suppose but circumstances change, for the area the Tipton is based in I would have thought they understood this.

    Another sad example to prove that it can be detrimental if you choose not to read the terms and conditions, or even just the KPI, before taking out an account.

    Depending on your level of desperation, may be a loan from a family member or friend, or a money transfer credit card can help with your immediate issue?

    It just means I have to find 6k from somewhere else, possibly I could borrow it from family. The maturity is the end of the year and purchases can take ages, but I just wanted to have the money ready. So not so much desperate, my own fault as I saw but I will still surprised how strict they are.
