What's the name of this account?LondonSouth556 said:
It just means I have to find 6k from somewhere else, possibly I could borrow it from family. The maturity is the end of the year and purchases can take ages, but I just wanted to have the money ready. So not so much desperate, my own fault as I saw but I will still surprised how strict they are.Daliah said:
Another sad example to prove that it can be detrimental if you choose not to read the terms and conditions, or even just the KPI, before taking out an account.LondonSouth556 said:Need money from my Tipton, I did not realise are very strict in withdrawal/closure, in that nether is possible before maturity. I needed the money for a house purchase. Yes its a fixed rate saver what did I expect, but all the others allowed me to leave early and lose the interest. My own fault I suppose but circumstances change, for the area the Tipton is based in I would have thought they understood this.
Depending on your level of desperation, may be a loan from a family member or friend, or a money transfer credit card can help with your immediate issue?0 -

For some reason I could not post the name of the account, it kept saying it was spam. Perhaps someone being a fool posting is.

Chip+1 1.25% rate ending on 8 December - Just had an email from them, asking on that date can they move my money to their Allica account paying a 'market best rate' of 0.7%
My interest is due on 16 Dec so will the account stay open for this? (no information about that in the email surprise surprise).0 -
Not a question for the regular saver thread, especially when you've already started your own thread about this....liamcov said:Chip+1 1.25% rate ending on 8 December - Just had an email from them, asking on that date can they move my money to their Allica account paying a 'market best rate' of 0.7%My interest is due on 16 Dec so will the account stay open for this? Chorley Seasonal Regular SaverLetter today that the new regular saver December to 30 November 22 will be 1.05% variable for max. £250 per month.Only available for maturing seasonal savers2

Ditto. Unimpressed with new Chorley RS (Seasonal Saver Issue3) interest of 1.05% compared to maturing one which was 1.25%. No withdrawals and a variable interest rate. Zopa`s 1.35% one year fix for £1000 would be a better home for the money. I will go for Option 1 which retains £1 and opens a SS3 for another year with the remaining money transferring by BACS to my nominated bank account (2 to 4 days later!). I will keep a minimum in new SS3 in order to stay a member and be eligible for better offerings in the future.
