someone said:Just had the Coventry BS letter land on my doormat today. Identical situation (hold two Reg Savers, Issue 3 and Issue 4, one before and one after the cutoff 20th October). I read the letter carefully and had someone else read the letter carefully. The interpretation both arrived at was there is no change to the accounts and they will continue to their usual maturity.Sounds like this is also backed up with direct interaction with Coventry BS so not going to spend any more time thinking about it.
Date of closure of my issue 4 account is 21 0ctober, the same day as the ones that have been given the two month's notice.
The letter says that no more payments should be made into the account that is to be closed. Not sure if that applies to my account as it won't be closing earlier than it would have done
It's too late to stop this month's standing order anyway as I've only just got the letter but what about the September payment?
I don't think it's clear at all.Not Rachmaninov

If the September payment would be into the account to be closed, they want you to make no more payments into it.
If it is into the account that you can keep, you can make a September payment.
You can always call them to ask for clarification. Or just stop your payments as it's only pennies you might lose if you do that.1 -

I have gone in and cancelled the payment. However, it does appear to be too late as it says standing order between 21 Oct 2020 and 23 Aug 2021.
It did say that any standing orders to be collected within 24 hours may not be cancelled. I'm guessing that with it being the weekend, the request for the SO had already been made. Not Rachmaninov

Monmouthshire Regular Saver.
Trying to cancel two standing orders (due 1/9) to the Monmouthshire Regular Saver Bond. However, Santander won't let me cancel it because it's still showing as active after cancellation. Hope Monmouthshire Reg allow 13 payments or at least return my overpayment instantly.0 -

If that's a problem, you could try editing the amount down to 1p (or maybe £1 min) to minimise the disruption to your budget? Or try edit the date to later, then try cancel.2 -

It's Santander. It never occurred to me to ring them with it being a Sunday. I realise now that I can, having checked.
To be honest, it won't matter that much if it goes through or not this month. If it should have been cancelled then I got the letter too close to the August payment date to be able to do it.
I shall be glad when my next regular savers mature. I'm already draining my flexible ISA for the monthly payments! At 0.50% it makes sense to do that rather than reduce my higher percent current accounts.
