Provided my maturity instructions to Cambridge Building Society earlier. Asked them to open a new Loyalty Regular Saver with £100, the rest to be sent to my linked accountI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

If anyone lives near a Newcastle Building Society branch they have launched a reg saver. Fixed until September next year, paying 2% on up to £200 per month. Can only be opened in branch though.13

After getting the pointless letter from Coventry BS last week telling me about closing RS accounts they've now emailed me as follows:
Dear Mr **********
Last week we wrote to you to say that you had more than one Regular Saver and we’d be closing one of them. We’re sorry – we shouldn’t have sent that letter to you. We included you by mistake and we won’t be closing any of your Regular Saver accounts on 21 October 2021.
There’s no need to worry and there’s nothing you need to do. But if you do have any concerns, please call our UK-based Customer Service Centre for free on 0800 121 8899, we’ll be happy to help.
Thanks for saving with us.6 -

The poor sods in Coventry BS. First they have to manually 'hunt down' people with multiple accounts, then they are so confused by their won rules that they get it wrong and have to send embarrassing apologies 🤣🤣🤣 They could have avoided all this if their systems had enforced their T&Cs in the first instance, or if they had had T&Cs their systems could cope with. Though I'd like to stress, I am not complaining 😎6

Ditto. Glad I hadn`t cancelled my RS standing orders. Don`t know what to expect next. Has someone challenged their decision. Having different issues of RS`s could make for an ambiguous interpretation.

Their later terms and conditions are not ambiguous at all.where_are_we said:1882 said:After getting the pointless letter from Coventry BS last week telling me about closing RS accounts they've now emailed me as follows:

1.5 You can only open and be named on one Regular Saver (including any previous or subsequent issues) at any one time
As far as I can check, this term wasn't in Issue 1, I can't check Issue 2 as I don't have a copy of those but it was in Issue 3.1 -
I haven’t kept any of their T&Cs but I recall the terms always said you can only have one. Just their systems didn‘t enforce these terms, and it appears they now have manual processes trying to enforce the terms.kaMelo said:
