It’s with Skipton for now, tbh I can’t be bothered with chasing the pennies for little reward anymore so looking to simplify my finances as an alternative ‘incentive’! Because time is money!soulsaver said:
...assuming one has got the £3k available to be locked away of course, although you could put £1.5k in at the start and get c. the same interest as a 1% £250pm RS.soulsaver said:
Y looking at it like that you may as well take a 1 year 1% fix for £3k+ (investec, £5k min)other than the flexible accessibility for loss of interest vs accessibility on death.Yorkshire_Pud said:
My RS matured 20th still waiting for my funds to be put in the flexible saver, last year it was done the day after but looks like they are holding on to my money for a bit longer this year for no reason. I’m leaving them after I get my money anyway, 1% interest on a new RS funding the advance account £1750 pm and if you close early get 0.01% for funds so far deposited. Oh yeah how can I resist but resist I must. Plus only have to wait three and a half years and I might be eligible to open a new current account for an £125 switch bonus after what seems like days of interviews and needless time consuming obstructions, almost over the tribulations of the 2014 account opening but I take it one day at a time.schiff said:
Didn't get a letter this time and the 2020 maturity letter didn't tell me what you just have lol Not important.colsten said:
Yes it's normal (just like FD). It vanishes for up to three days. They detail this in their maturity letter.schiff said:My HSBC RS matures today and it's disappeared from my home screen. I don't remember what happened on previous maturities. Is this the norm? TIA
I have a note about the maturity from them (maybe a junked email) that said 'proceeds can be w'dwn on maturity'.0 -
Does anyone hold both these accounts?Principality BS - First Home Steps OnlinePrincipality BS - First Home Steps Account (Issue 2)(i.e. the online and branch one)
These accounts both offer the same tiered interest of 0.8%-1.5% depending on balance, monthly deposit limits of £1,500, 3 withdrawals a year and a max balance of £25k.

I hold the online version, but not the branch version (no branches near me). In the T&Cs for each account they state that you can only hold one account of each issue. They seem to treat the branch/online accounts as separate from each other, which suggests there's nothing stopping you from holding both if you wanted.
It takes 2 months to get to the 1% tier and 6 months to get to the 1.5% tier (assuming max contributions) so other accounts probably win out over the short term, particularly if you have less money to deposit, but it suits me well0 -
I have two accounts, waiting to see what happens when they mature.Frogletina said:
A great rate but you can only have one of these accounts so I can't apply for this new one.SFindlay said:
Glad to see they're keeping the 1.75%, I did wonder if would drop it.Wheres_My_Cashback said:Virgin HBC6 now available. 1.75%

Instant withdrawal with Halifax Regular Saver ??
I have been trying to do partial withdrawal on my Halifax Regular Saver today. But it seems they do not allow people to do this. Unlike BOS regular saver, in Halifax RSA there is no “Payments and transfers” button available on online banking??
Is there a way to do partial instant withdrawal with Halifax RSA ??
I remember to read sowhere in the past that there is a condition something like early closure are allowed. But Early cancelarion will need to wait for another one year before youcould apply for another one ? Could you close the account online ?? TIA

No partial withdrawals, but can close. If close, you're not permitted to open another for 12 months.adindas said:Instant withdrawal with Halifax Regular Saver ??
