Didn't get a letter this time and the 2020 maturity letter didn't tell me what you just have lol Not important.colsten said:
Yes it's normal (just like FD). It vanishes for up to three days. They detail this in their maturity letter.schiff said:My HSBC RS matures today and it's disappeared from my home screen. I don't remember what happened on previous maturities. Is this the norm? TIA
I have a note about the maturity from them (maybe a junked email) that said 'proceeds can be w'dwn on maturity'.0 -
My HSBC RS matured last week. Did get a letter saying it would disappear upon maturity and funds would be moved to a basic saver and be available in up to 5 days, which I thought was a long time to have to wait. However it was actually available the following day in the basic saver (which in my case still existed from a previous regular saver having matured, rather than a new one) and I moved it out immediately without any issues.schiff said:

My RS matured 20th still waiting for my funds to be put in the flexible saver, last year it was done the day after but looks like they are holding on to my money for a bit longer this year for no reason. I’m leaving them after I get my money anyway, 1% interest on a new RS funding the advance account £1750 pm and if you close early get 0.01% for funds so far deposited. Oh yeah how can I resist but resist I must. Plus only have to wait three and a half years and I might be eligible to open a new current account for an £125 switch bonus after what seems like days of interviews and needless time consuming obstructions, almost over the tribulations of the 2014 account opening but I take it one day at a time.schiff said:

Those with maturing HSBC (and other) RSs and at a loss as to what to do with their newly released funds might be interested in the HSBC investment offer. Obviously a totally different risk level to a Regular Saver but those who are fed up with low interest rates and who have an appetite for a bit, or a lot, of risk might be tempted.
You could completely DIY your investment, or pick one of the ready-made HSBC Global Strategy Funds, which come in 5 different risk levels. After a lot of umming and ahing I took the plunge with on of these funds in a GIC. Obviously, doing it in an ISA would be preferable but I have already maxed my allowance elsewhere.
[No] Apologies for this minor diversion from the main purpose of this thread.5 -
Y looking at it like that you may as well take a 1 year 1% fix for £3k+ (investec, £5k min)other than the flexible accessibility for loss of interest vs accessibility on death.Yorkshire_Pud said:

...assuming one has got the £3k available to be locked away of course, although you could put £1.5k in at the start and get c. the same interest as a 1% £250pm RS.soulsaver said:
