So any update on the exciting developments planned at the Monmouthshire?

I expect all it was in practice was a staff afternoon awayday!

I wonder what's going on at the Mon BS.  Their website says they're closing at 13:00 on Wed 28th Apr because
"We will be sharing our future plans with all our colleagues and are excited about what the future holds for the Society and its members."

I'm guessing this is more likely to be related to their new current account which has been put on hold for several years....no doubt we'll hear about it by Monday!

Maybe. I think if this is what it's all about, but I think their comment "we...are excited about what the future holds for the Society and its members" is overegging it a bit...

Can't see why they haven't commented today on what the "excitement" was all about; I mean, shout it from the rooftops!

It was probably just a regular "all-hands" type meeting. We have them every so often where I work, as I think most companies probably do. The senior management just talk about the last year/month or whatever and the strategy for the future, with a chance for staff to ask questions of the senior management. Very generic stuff. I doubt anything earth-shattering will come out of it.

    YBS Loyalty Regular Saver

Just transferred £500 from my instant access account to the LRS, and pleased to see it has gone through with today's date.  (Wasn't sure if it would go through as Tuesday.)

(My YBS IA account is funded with a Halifax debit card  :) satisfying one of the criteria for the £5 Reward).

You know can fund the YBS LRS with a debit card payment, direct?

Yes, but deposits by DC take two days to clear.

So if I made a deposit today by DC, the money wouldn't start earning interest until next Wednesday 5th.

By making a DC deposit to my IASA last Wednesday (or earlier), the funds had cleared yesterday and I was able to transfer them into my LRSA today.

I don't think you can do it in the app.  You need to use online banking.

Click on your LRS account to select it.
From the menu on the left hand side of the screen, select "Deposit Money"

But it takes two working days to clear.  Which is why I suggest depositing in an instant access account, then transferring it across on the first of the month.

I've got an old IASA which is paying 0.3% on £1
