It might be time to cash-in on the M&S monthly saver, as it seems there's no point in holding on to it until maturity. M&S are promising to pay the full interest (£44.50) as though the account were held for 12 months if the account is closed now, without the need to wait until maturity, or the pending closure of all current accounts in August. Details are in a recently updated MSE news article, and M&S confirmed this in a phone call this morning.

The latter - the situation with the M&S regular saver has been discussed at length on the thread on the banking board about the trigger event, i.e. the closure of the current accounts: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6247452/m-s-bank-closing-all-current-accounts/p1castle96 said:Interest on the amount in the a/c now, or on the 12 months payments, ie incl. those that you don't pay in if closed now ??1 -
