How do I answer the question 'do you have indefinite leave to remain in the UK?' if I am a permanent resident?

    You answer 'yes'.

I answered 'no' as I assumed this wasn't applicable to me as a British National by birth, i.e. not applied to settle https://www.gov.uk/settle-in-the-uk
    My application was still accepted

    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."

    - Principality BS Christmas Saver Bond noted but as the interest rate is 1.1% variable, the rate is too low for it to be included on the first page of this thread
Thanks as always S_S2:  I believe you would have intended to write 'Monmouthshire' here, not 'Principality'.

Exactly. That's why I answered 'no'
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

No thanks, I'll take my chances elsewhere.
Re Monmouthshire BS new Christmas Saver 1.1%
    According to their Savings T&C's;
6.25 If we make any other change to the charges or fees which apply to your account we will send you a letter, email or other personal notice telling you about the change. We will provide you with advance notification not less than 30 days before the change comes into effect. At anytime up to the date the change comes into effect, you may close your account or transfer your money to another account. You may do this without giving us any notice or incurring any charge or loss of interest that would otherwise apply under the Product Terms and Conditions.
Surely this is the "get out of jail free" card?

Thanks EPC. However, I feel the 'get out of jail free card' with MonBS is actually not para 6.25 (which is about charges), but might instead be para 6.14 (about interest):

6.14 If we make a change to the interest rate we pay on your account which is to your disadvantage we will notify you by sending you a letter, email or other personal notice 30 days in advance of the change. At any time up to 30 days from the date of our notice you may close your account, or transfer your money to another Society account. You may do this without giving us any notice or incurring any charge or loss of interest that would otherwise apply under the Product Terms and Conditions.

Let's just hope the above would prevail over this account's specific T&Cs.  I dunno.

Oops! I inadvertently cut & pasted the wrong bullet point!! This was the one I intended to post....☹️
Thanks for posting the correct one.

This suggests that the opposite priority applies...

    6 - Terms and Conditions

These specific Product Terms and Conditions apply to this account in addition to our General Terms & Conditions for Savings Accounts. Where there is any inconsistency between the General Terms & Conditions for Savings Accounts and the specific Product Terms and Conditions, the specific Terms and Conditions will apply.

The first upside of Covid-19 - - KRBS are presently taking postal applications for their RS. You need to call or email them for the application form, and send them an opening deposit either by cheque, or ask them to transfer the opening deposit from another KRBS account in your name.

This RS matures into a KRBS online saver, from which you can make electronic withdrawals (provided you have online access and a nominated current account). It's therefore suitable even for those who don't live anywhere near a KRBS Branch.

When I go onto the KRBS website it states branch only, there is nothing to suggest they will entertain an email approach, can you clarify please?

That is very strange, especially in the light of last night's lockdown announcement. But you are right, they have removed the "we currently don't open accounts in Branch" notice from their website.

If you are after the RS, I would still ask them for the forms
