Finally got the invite to open a Zopa current account (to get their RS offering of course). and they require photo ID. There are millions of people in the UK who lack photo ID (very often disabled, as I am). So frustrating.
Snap….. I am classed as 80% disabled. Not allowed a driving license and do not own a passport as travelling would be a logistical nightmare. Sometimes these requirements leaves you a feeling of being singled out…. A form of discrimination.
I understand your annoyance but is it not worth considering getting a passport just for Id purposes? It's the equivalent of £8.80 a year for a universally(-ish) accepted identification document.
I agree! For peace of mind, even though its almost impossible for me to travel, I renewed my passport as it was logical for me to have a solid form of ID and at £8.50 a year, it was a worth while investment. Yearly Medical Driving Licenses can be so precarious, especially if forms also have to be coompleted by others before the MB considers a new license. Plus, when there's less than 3 months left on the DL, it's usually not accepted as proof of ID, and we all know Sod's Law :/:|

Regarding the 6 Month RS they state in the Ts&Cs that the maximum balance of the account is £1.2k so if you opened it when it was first launched and fully funded it to that point this month would take you over that and any payments would be returned.

Yep I made this mistake, they promptly returned my £200, and also sent me a letter in the post (which felt like a waste of money, when an email could have been sent).

Just noticed the Xmas payment went to an account which I have already closed....

I already have their issue 34, can I open issue 35 as well?

I rang to check I could open a 34 when my 33 hadn't yet finished; they confirmed both could be held by same person as they are different issue numbers; that is the rule Principality set in the 33/34/35 T&C. Therefore we have started issue 35 as well, no queries from their end. All good.
