Can anybody remind me which regular saver accounts can take funding on Sunday 1st and which ones only from Monday 2nd using manual transfers? I know some can take an incoming payment on Sunday but won't pay you interest, which is why they need funding on Monday.
    Sunday
Aldermore, BoS, Coventry, Gatehouse, Halifax, Lloyds, Melton, Newcastle, Nottingham, Nationwide, Principality, TSB, YBS.
    Monday
Co-op, Hanley, Loughborough, Mansfield, MHBS, MonBS, Progressive, Saffron, Skipton, VM, RBS, Natwest.
Thanks for this. It’s incredibly helpful.

Does anyone know about HSBC, FD, Chorley or SRBS?

Just to note, deposits I’ve made into the following institutions’ regular savers today are showing dated as 2nd December:

    Halifax
    BOS
    Lloyds
    Nationwide

What this means for interest, I don’t know.

I’ve also made payments into Principality, but I’ve been unable to check when those have been dated yet.
Regarding  Principality  l deposited  into the Xmas regular saver  via nationwide at 8am this morning(Sunday)

And on the PBS  online banking it states  1st of this month.

    Flex Regular Saver Issue 2

As above I made a faster payment today, but its dated 2nd December.- I thought transactions done on non-working days do get acted as soon as possible and start earning interest that same day, but I'm now questioning that.

Also, can I make a 13th month payment on a Flex Regular Saver Issue 2 account?

    TIA

Your Flex RS deposit will start earning interest today. Yes, you can make 13th payment.

There's no choice for FD, it has to be SO and as with all standing orders the money is credited on working days only.  Don't know about HSBC because I use SO for funding HSBC RS.

Halifax, BoS, Lloyds and Nationwide - deposits dated next working day but the interest is earned from the day of deposit.

Principality - credited at weekends and as far as I know earns interest straight away.  It takes few hours for deposit to show.
Manual payment into HSBC is dated today

  • I currently have a Current Account with Nationwide and hold a Flex RS. However I’m switching to Lloyds this week, will the Flex RS be closed or will it remain open? I have a credit card with them so will still hold an account and have access to the app.

Probably be transferred to a lesser paying account .
If you're doing switching, its worth using donor accounts rather than switching main accounts

I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

Why not open a second current account to maintain the requirement?

Thanks, I did read that in the T&Cs but they use the word “may” meaning that they may not and was wondering if anyone had experience of this themselves. I do appreciate you taking the time to search and post that though.

With regards to the doner account use. I’ve never really bothered too much in getting involved to that level. I’m happy to move my custom over to another bank if the incentives are there. Plus as you will be aware, you often have to meet and maintain certain criteria to avoid monthly fee's, e.g for Lloyds the account I’ve gone for requires £2000 payment per month and three direct debits. So I just find it easier to go along with it all and move every couple of years or so 👍🏼
