Don't know how to calculate what that is in interest and couldn't be bothered anyway.0 -
Just paid £250 into my Virgin RS and it’s showing as Pending so suspect posting date will end up being the 2nd (next working day).3

I have visions of many of us on here transferring money at this very moment to their different RS accounts and monitoring when the money shows. Yes, that’s me too3

Co-op, Hanley, Loughborough, Mansfield, MHBS, MonBS, Progressive, Saffron, Skipton, VM, RBS, Natwest.VM accepts deposits 7 days a week.
I've deposited to VM at weekend and it showed as next working day. I don't know whether the money is credited on the date sent, but I assume it is not.
When I last deposited into my RS at the weekend (from an external account) it was credited immediately, but was future dated to the next working day.
The important part is the interest, whether it is credited at weekend or next working day. Deposits to LBG dated to the next working day but interest is credited from the date of arrival. I'm not sure if VM is doing the same, I suspect they don't and therefore I don't deposit into VM RS at weekends. It would be great is somebody who knows for sure clarified this.
For Virgin Money, credits on non-working days do not start earning interest until the next working day (tested for 1st September 2024). The transaction status will be pending, and eventually, there will be no record of the actual transaction date. This is unlike LBG and Nationwide, who include the actual transaction date in transaction details where the date differs from the posting date (and unlike NatWest, also pay interest).
As a side note, I do appreciate that Chase and Starling include the precise time of each transaction in their app interfaces (although not their statements), in addition to accurate dates.
