Thinking of opening the TSB one, but says it has to be funded via a Standing Order, or is that not the case?Bigwheels1111 said:TSB, Gatehouse & Principality reg savers opened and funded this morning.
Now I can fund again tomorrow to max interest.0 -

As nearly always - it isn't the case. The lone exception is First Direct. Santander (and Zopa?) don't provide BACS account details for their regular savers but still support manual internal transfers.

Now I can fund again tomorrow to max interest.First payment was bank transfer.I will do the same in the morning. Then set up SO from my FD account. Not sure if it can be direct or has to be via TSB account. Will call to ask.1 -
I fund my TSB RS on the 1st of each month directly from other banks (FD, Santander or Chase). There is no need for SO.Bigwheels1111 said:Marcoos said:

That is a reassurance as I realised yesterday my unfunded Santander monthly saver can kind of be used as a high interest easy access at a higher rate than edge and edge saver but I couldn't set an so up in time for this month so did a manual transfer, then so from 1st.WillPS said:Marcoos said:

Have the Principality changed their guidance on making payments in?
Their (newish) website says to make payments in using your own name as the payee name. I could have sworn the previous guidance was to use 'Principality Building Society' as the payee and select the 'Business' account option.0 -
It is for existing customers.

I paid in some money this morning the same way I've always done it (using PBS as the payee, and selecting them as Business) and it successfully credited the account I sent it to.dekkard said:Have the Principality changed their guidance on making payments in?

I opened the 5.5% and took a screenshot of the confirmation screen, from which I copied and pasted the details into online banking to make the payment. It still said Principality Building Society as the name and to select business, but this time I got no COP match. I can’t recall that happening before, so a change half-completed maybe.2 -
I've just called them. They HAVE changed this so any new savings accounts should follow the new process though clearly it can't matter that much given what you've experienced.t1redmonkey said:

They also said that any existing standing orders using the old process (ie with the payee as PBS) don't need to be updated.
(To be clear, I was opening the new issue 35 Regular Saver.)3
