I am in the same position as you, and a few weeks ago I came across a couple of "13th Payment" threads which both said that Gatehouse allow 13th payments - so I added it back into my manual list to be paid on the 1st.GetRichOrDieSaving said:Does the Gatehouse RS allow a 13th payment? Principality Christmas 2025 Regular Saver
Opened and funded as a new user earlier today, very quick and easy to do. Sent a £1 tester and was there within the 2 hours.
Can log in and out of the account fine also. Just won't be able to do much till the activation letter arrives. But not an issue as won't need to move or withdraw.

@castle96 - there is a 12 month bonus rate if you are an Edge account holder and have an Edge saver too. But if you've held that account for more than 12 months, then the rate goes down. Top tip I found on here was to close it, open a new one (as you'll get another 12 months at a bonus rate) and put your balance into the new one ASAP. Noting that you can't have more than one Edge saver with the bonus rate open at any one time.

I'm not sure where the comment about spats stems from (should I be paranoid?!) but just in case anyone thought I was being rude (which I wasn't), I genuinely do appreciate the commitment to the interest and *was* just checking that the comment about a payment into a regular saver being considered 'late' was just a self-imposed position.simonsmithsays said:We definitely need more @Bridlington1 on here.
Whilst I don't want to weigh them down with any responsibility of digging up more gems I've been tremendously appreciative of, not only the work they've put in on this thread but also of them keeping it on track (which ironically is not what I'm doing now) and not getting involved in spats.
Further, I was keen to make sure that there weren't any Regular Saver accounts out there which would likely have a monthly deadline for any money going in... just in case there is potential to get stung. I don't think this is the case though as I haven't heard anyone respond to this point. I guess it could be a neat way for banks to justify reducing interest, but also could get quite convoluted, so they just stick to a calendar month payment. Correct? I should probably get into the habit of reading the small print. I'm still only a month into my MSE journey

I think the current bonus rate is only about 6% now though, so I'm holding on to my 7% as long as I can (two more days). But it's still better than the defaultcastle96 said:mmm. Must have done just that (and forgotten) back in Aug. Thanks

I've got an email off Ecology saying they're no longer accepting direct debits for saving accounts from 15th JanuaryI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?7

Well that is disappointing news.

Their regular saver is now unfortunately of really limited use/no use. Direct debits were the only reason I held accounts with ecology.kaMelo said:surreysaver said:I've got an email off Ecology saying they're no longer accepting direct debits for saving accounts from 15th January

I now have 6 spare DD facilities to replace Ecology. Good of them that they gave far in advance notice.surreysaver said:I've got an email off Ecology saying they're no longer accepting direct debits for saving accounts from 15th January1
