Melton. I just spoke with someone there and she said they will do a manual check using the information provided on the application form and only if that fails, will they ask for ID.Kim_13 said:
It does mention sending identification with the form, so not sure I’ll bother. You’d normally expect an electronic check and only to be required to obtain acceptable proofs if that failed, but maybe they only do electronic checks where online applications are allowed.WillPS said:Melton BSNow listed online: https://www.themelton.co.uk/regular_savings/regular-saver-6/There is a postal method for applying.3 -
If you read the identification document it says that electronic checks will be conducted first. I’ve previously opened accounts with Melton by post and haven’t had to provide anything.Kim_13 said:

FWIW I haven't sent them any ID and proof of address when I've applied for their Regular Saver Issues 4 and 5. I can't remember for certain if I sent them ID when I applied for an EA account with them for membership purposes a couple of years back but I don't recall doing so.
If you give them a ring they'll send an application pack to you, this should include a prepaid envelope. If you don't send ID the worst that can happen is they'll get in touch saying their electronic checks have failed and asking if you can provide ID and proof of address2 -
That would be one year and one day. If you open an annual account on the 9th September, it would mature on 8th September the following year. Which is a Monday. Forget I said anything !wiseonesomeofthetime said:
It shouldn't mature on a Sunday. Unless a leap year, it would mature on a Monday, surely.surreysaver said:
I prefer not to apply for accounts on Mondays anyway, to prevent them maturing on a SundayBridlington1 said:I've spoken to two of YBS's branches. They've said there's been a delay with the 8% regular saver due to technical issues with their online applications and they now plan to launch the account tomorrow instead.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -

Apologies for the misinformation in my earlier post then.WillPS said:Melton BSNow listed online: https://www.themelton.co.uk/regular_savings/regular-saver-6/There is a postal method for applying.
In my defence moneyfacts was explicitly showing the account to be branch only opening so the info I had at the time was incorrect.
I was about to print off an application form, then saw there's no online or app management, which puts me right off.

To make a withdrawal you have to post them the passbook with your instructions, so I will be giving this one a miss.friolento said:Bridlington1 said:

By 30 September 2026 they may have added the account to their online portal and sorted out online withdrawals. Unless you expect to need to make a withdrawal in the short term this restriction seems Ok for an account you'd expect to be filling up rather than withdrawing from over a two-year period.Stargunner said:

Melton. I asked about this and was told you can give instructions over the phone to transfer to a nominated account, although it might take a couple of days to get there.Stargunner said:

There is online access too. It's view only but at least we can check that deposits have arrived.4 -
