With regard to the Monmouthshire Regular account, how are you meant to fill in the Online Signatory form that they send out?
In particular it's the "Please confirm by ticking the appropriate box whether the account holder is currently: Physically incapacitated : Mentally incapacitated : Neither physically or mentally incapacitated" section.
At first I thought it was a part of Monmouthshire's know your customer approach and that I should tick the Neither box, but then underneath that section it says "If neither, please state the reason for the registration:" which makes me think that the section is perhaps only to be completed under certain circumstances, but nowhere does it say what those circumstances are so I'm in a quandary as to whether to fill it in or not.
In normal times I'd just give them a ring, but in these not so normal times I thought I'd check here first.
I pondered about this too! In the end I think I ticked the 'Neither' box and gave reason for registration as 'Requested by yourselves'. No idea what we were meant to do but they've opened my account!!

I always leave that whole section blank as I'm not signing on behalf of any other person. They've been perfectly happy. Poorly worded form.

Eeeek. Looks they are now enforcing their T&Cs with a manual check.
    Perhaps I won't!
Log in to your account and apply from there and it works fine rather than going to their website and applying.
Yes a lot easier and what a breeze compared to Monmouthshire!
  • @SFindlay - When does your Issue 2 mature?

Mine is not until January 2021. Debating whether to try now or not.

January too, as I say i applied whilst logged into my account where it says open new product and literally took 2 minutes as everything was prepopulated. Got account number immediately allowing me to set up transfer and appeared on my account list within about 2 hours with my deposited funds.

Just concerned by that T&C 1.3 which is clear.

What's the worst they can do though? Close it? So may well go for it.

    Cheers

    Update:
Have applied, been accepted, and funded.
Though, if I had done the maths first, do wonder whether I would have bothered as, at current rates (both variable), I seek to earn just £1pm more interest by drip-feeding, before tax!!!!

There's a parallel thread about Halifax Reward accounts.  T&Cs say a max of X accounts - some MSEers have 2X - or more.   . :)

I thought there was something that said if you were applying for yourself you just had to fill in section 3? It wasn't obvious though as I only found it after wondering what box to tick in section 2.
