    I presume I shall be unable to open a new RS with Coventry as I already have an issue 2 account running and previous,posts on here suggest I shouldn't even have been allowed it as I had the original issue on the go.
    You're fine to open issue 3 and have it run alongside issue 2.

    The above is taken from T&C`s - seems like you can`t have RS 2 and Rs 3 at the same time. Probably best to wait until RS 2 matures and then open RS3 ?

  • Sounds a bit like the old days with Nationwide Flexdirect Accounts.

    Just applied - as a current member - and got;

    To complete opening this account, you'll need to return a paper application form

    Before we can open your new account, you'll need to sign and return the pre-filled application form we've sent you. This should arrive by post in the next few days. You might also need to send us identification. Your account won't be opened until we have received this back and processed your application.

    Once we've opened the account, we'll confirm your new account details by post, including your sort code and account number.

    I didn't get that...
  • Perhaps you applied before the stampede

    Cov BS have replaced the Regular Saver (Issue 2) with an Issue 3 paying a lower 1.55% (everything else looks the same), but I presume the timing is to coincide with a large number of Issue 1’s maturing and people looking to open a new one soon upon said maturity.
    At least it's reassuring that as we approach the maturity of the first Issue 2 accounts, that Coventry will still have something to replace them with.  I feared that Coventry would, in the next couple of weeks, just pull the plug on regular savers (following YBS, SaffronBS etc) or drop the rate to something barely worthwhile (Virgin Money etc).
