    Virgin Money Regular Saver Exclusive

Changed my employment information whilst doing the application yesterday which was clearly a mistake as it meant a human would have to review the application.

Had two emails today heralding "good news" about "an update to the application" however when I do log in, these just ends in an eternal loading screen.

Have left a secure message to see if they can resolve the issue.

Note that under ithe VM additional info it says "You can only have one Regular Saver Exclusive at any time, this includes joint accounts" - wonder if that means that each individual can only have one RS, rather than you can only have one RS per current account.

    https://uk.virginmoney.com/savings/products/regular_saver_exclusive_issue_1/#additional-information.

Time will tell - inclined to leave for now. Haven't funded either RS yet - going to do so shortly.

Yes, in their T&Cs it says:

What is the maximum number of accounts I can have?
You’re only able to have one of these accounts in your own name or held jointly with another.
    VM.
I've opened and funded two in my own name, one from my Clydesdale profile and another from Yorkshire.

Not sure it’s been mentioned but the RS account with VM pays interest 4 times a year… for those trying to manage their PSA limit (as I am!).

“We’ll add any interest on the last working day in March, June, September, and December.”
    Damn.  I hadn't spotted that 😟

So about £75 in the current tax year then.

I will have to empty my Santander Edge account in December to compensate for that.

    Many thanks for highlighting it.

I had forgotten just how bad Virgin's IT is, and why I closed my accounts with them.

I've spent about two hours trying to set up and fund their new RS.

Had problems setting up because it created a new user profile, and I couldn't apply with the old one.

Same email address for both profiles was causing issues.

Finally opened the current account and the new regular saver, but unable to fund the accounts as they are not live on whatever database the Faster Payments systems reference.  Tried to fund from Chase, Barclays, NatWest, Santander, and Lloyds.

The interest rate may be fantastic, but honestly, the additional interest is not worth two hours of my time.
I am experiencing very similar issues with their antiquated IT system... And the customer service is pretty dire, unlike say, Skipton Building Society, who are excellent in this domain.

Has anyone got an email address for Virgin customer services? I'm struggling to log on - I know my customer number and password but they aren't accepted. Severe deafness restricts using the phone. TIA
I don't know about an email address, but I had the same issue as I didn't have any active accounts. I needed to apply as a new customer.

I attempted to open a new CA and got the ‘we recognise you’ message. The problem is I did have two CA with Virgin and moved both of them some time back but the linked saver account still exists to this day with nothing in it. So it will not let me open a new account without logging in and I can’t find my old details.

That's what it will do on the app, but it also directs you to apply via the website and when you do that it doesn't direct you to log in. I went through the same thing, and also left the linked saver behind (although I assume that got taken care of by dormancy rules).
I did not use the app, I applied via my laptop and got asked to login
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

Hmm my beehive RS matured today, I have to either leave £10 to keep it open or close the account to get all the cash. Any recommendation? Are people keeping it in case a good existing deal comes out?

I've left the £10 in as it seemed to be the quickest option. Can always close it later.
    RE Beehive RS

Have you received your money already? I went with close but it said it take 1-2 working days😞
You can withdraw ahead of requesting closure. Withdrawals to external nominated accounts are next working day. Whether that will get you your money any faster remains to be seen. We'll find out tomorrow...
    Beehive RS maturity
It turns out closure was no slower than withdrawing. Money was there this morning and no need to leave a tenner behind.
I think it goes to show that no two circumstances are the same. Mine still isn't there at 5pm today, after it being closed as soon as it matured. Ah well...

That is of course assuming there are no adverse changes affecting savers & savings limits in the October Budget.

Not sure how up to date this is, but I found this hello@virginmoney.com

And does this help in any way?

Some of these live chat bots do eventually recognise that you need a person - but not this one. I've pleaded in capitals for a person, then I'm obliged to choose from five irrelevant topics. And it is just immovable and stubborn. I might try a letter!

It is an extremely annoying app, isn't it? I managed to get through to a (not-helpful-at-all live person) by ignoring the bot's suggestions and typing 'agent', and then scrolling right to where the option for 'customer service' (or something like that) button is and selecting that. Good luck!
