Monmouthshire BS Saver Plus Issue 3
Message sent to MBS:-
I note that the Saver Plus Issue 3 has been withdrawn from sale. The Key Product Information for this account stated that no additional deposits can be made into the account when it is no longer on sale. However this rule does not appear in the Product Terms and Conditions. If such a rule applies, it will not be possible to earn the 1% interest bonus on 31 March next year, as the bonus is conditional on a minimum payment of £20 being paid into the account each month from the month of opening up to and including March of the following year. I would be grateful if you could clarify the position. Many thanks.

Thank you for your message. At this stage you can continue paying into this account as it is still available to pay into for accounts already open. This product has been withdrawn for new business only.5 -

Loughborough BS has written saying that on 24th September the legacy 'Save To Buy' account will convert to a 'Flexible Save to Buy' account. The interest rate will be cut from 3.00% to 1.50%. Generally the revised T&Cs are indeed somewhat more flexible than before. However the account, which continues to have an indefinite life, remains subject to one monthly contribution of up to £500, and an account maximum of £24k.3

Monmouthshire BS, applied online over the weekend and received letter this morning asking to sign and return form,
They have given account number but state I cannot pay money in until they receive form back.
As I want to get a payment in before the end of this month this will have to be with them by Friday as Monday is bank holiday.
I will set up a SO for Friday and see what happens!1 -

But be careful about sending funds to the account number quoted on the letter - it may be a temporary number created in the application process. All my previous MonmouthshireBS accounts have been ten numeric digits - my letter's account number was in the form of nine digits plus an 'X'. It's frustrating but I'm not risking it and will delay until September. Unless somebody has already asked MonmouthshireBS about this?

Maybe enclosing a cheque with the signed form would be 'safer'?0
