    Thanks, opened!
Only opened the £1000pm Saver Plus Issue 3 yesterday at 1.2%, just in time, as it now looks to have been withdrawn.
How long did it take to show in your account?  Wish you could apply while logged into account
Checked with them earlier and they told me it won't show until I have sent back the signature specimen form, however deposits only can still be made.
But did you only become a member yesterday when opened issue 3??
No, I've had 4 previous accounts and have another RS with them maturing in 3 days time. When I queried the need for a spec signature when they already had one they stated they do it for online applications.
MON BS are relatively new to online applications, my earlier savers were postal openings, hence no need for a signature.

How can you make deposits if you cannot see account details and don't receive an email with the details.

Applied online Weds, confirmed account open in post yesterday with account details, checked to see if funds could be immediately deposited and credited which was confirmed,  though as I said previosly I won't see it online until the signature form has been processed.

  • Just had a reply to my secure message telling me that applications are dealt with manually by staff and are not opened automatically

Have you received an email reply from them?  I made an application for the Monmouth RS & it said that they would be in touch, however I've not received anything by email yet...
AFAIK, MON BS do NOT send out e-mail confirmations, only the posted paperwork will confirm the account and then they'll need you to send back a signature specimen...see my post above.

Excellent, thank you.  I was worried that I may have made an error in my email address when I applied this morning!  I've never dealt with MON BS before.
    Thanks again

  • Monmouthshire BS has today pulled two RS products of long standing: the Saver Plus Issue 3 (as already posted) and the Christmas Saver Issue 2.

    How quaint :)

Thanks to James Robinson 48 for the heads up. Just applied online.

I was surprised to find I could log into Monmouthshire OLB despite not having an active account since November 2015.

In the document I have for the Saver Plus Issue 3 it says that

    • Additional deposits can be made as often as you like up to £1,000 per month, whilst the product is on sale.
It’s gone from the website but is on the Wayback Machine:
    https://web.archive.org/web/20190420131441/https://www.monbs.com/products/saver-plus/

So this suggests the product is now closed to further payments

Thanks, well spotted!  Interestingly, while the above phrase appears in the Key Product Information, there is nothing to that effect in the Specific Product Terms and Conditions within the same document. (Also, the MonBS's somewhat similar Christmas Saver account has nothing like that).  As you know, a full set of monthly payments up to March 2021 is required to earn the 1.00% bonus. It looks like possibly loose drafting to me. I guess in early Sep I'll start by transferring a nominal amount into Saver Plus 3 from another MonBS savings account, and see if that's accepted.

Thanks for the heads-up on these Monmouthshire pulled accounts.

I'd tend to agree with JR48 that it's poor QAing of the T&C's.

I guess it's one of those that we are keen to know but not keen to highlight to MBS!
