My £250 was bounced back, not really much of a surprise.schiff said:Monmouth
I FP'd £250 late afternoon y/day and have today requested that the account be listed on the online pages. I'm posting the signature form today (SCP per the provided envelope) to be added to the collection of signature forms they already have for me. It's like opening the Virgin store accounts used to be, as a result of which they have 19 photos of my passport.0 -
Same here, still waiting to hear something.1882 said:I'm new to MBS and "opened" account on Friday last week and had no email or anything by post!

New timer to MBS - applied online last Saturday and received a letter this morning (Friday) asking for a signature for their records so that they can get everything up and running. When I applied ithe website did say "We will be in touch soon to verify your identity and get your account set up." which worried me slightly as I didn't want to have to go through the hassle of sending over id documents.I assume that given that they've not asked me to send anything extra to the signature that I've passed their security checks - are there any existing MBS customers who can confirm that they don't come back at some later date for additional documents.0

Yeah, mine too. So I sent it again. Their account opening processes for existing customers are silly.schiff said:

All banks / building societies can come back at any time to ask for additional information, or to reconfirm information they already have.Notepad_Phil said:are there any existing MBS customers who can confirm that they don't come back at some later date for additional documents.
At MBS, they have the silly process that they keep asking for your physical signature every time you open a new account.0 -

At MBS, they have the silly process that they keep asking for your physical signature every time you open a new account.Yes indeed they can, though it was as part of the message "We will be in touch soon to verify your identity and get your account set up." that came up at the end of the opening process that I was asking - I'm used to that kind of message coming up when they've not been able to electronically verify me (which luckily does not happen very often), so as apart from my signature nothing was asked for in today's letter I wondered whether they would be asked for later in the opening process.0 -
Due to the obligatory signature documents having to be returned in post before making first deposit into MBS RSB issue4, I gave up trying to get £250 in before the end of the month (a loss of about 20p in interest is no worry!). To be safe I included a cheque for £250 payable to myself followed by my new account number. I will set up the 11 £250 SO`s starting 1/10/20 later next month.

Surely the loss is over £3.00, as you're not going to be able to put that £250 until next August? The £250 you're going to put in in September would have been put in in September regardless of whether you funded the account this month?where_are_we said:Due to the obligatory signature documents having to be returned in post before making first deposit into MBS RSB issue4, I gave up trying to get £250 in before the end of the month (a loss of about 20p in interest is no worry!). You assume that "that £250" will be earning nothing in the mean time?surreysaver said:

Even if its earning in the region of 1%, we're still in the region of £1 down, and not 20p as the poster believes. Possibly more if interest rates in variable accounts go down again in the meantimepolymaff said:
