  • Looks like they have removed paying in monthly by direct debit though, can’t seem to see it on the Reg Saver page on their website

Anyone who is an existing customer been able to reduce the DD from £25 to £10 please? Not sure whether to try, or just leave it seeing as they no longer allow new customers to use them. Thanks

I'm inclined to agree. Might be more trouble than its worth
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?
  • That's good to know. Was thinking of switching the account to Lloyds. If this regular saver requires a current account I'll stay with Co-op just for this. If it's instant access, no doubt it will be 7% variable.

Ah the co-op. I hold no accounts with them, deliberately so, given the experience others had with the refer a friend offer. If they do release this, I'll need to think carefully as to whether I trust them or not. Particularly if it'll require a current account and hard search.

I wouldn't let refer-a-friend offer issues put you off opening an account. Co-op certainly aren't the quickest by any stretch of the imagination when it comes to opening accounts but they usually get there in the end. If it's a 7% EA regular saver you'd only likely be needing to do 1 or 2 transactions/mth with Co-op and can ignore the account most of the time.

I'm one of those people who spent several months trying to get the £125 out of them and I'll still be applying for the account when it's launched.
  • The timing of the release of this regular saver is telling I think. It could be that they're trying to limit the number of recently switched accounts that might be quickly switched out again, now that Lloyds have launched another switch offer. I already have 6 current accounts purely to get access to regular savers, looks like it might raise to 7.
