Scottish Building Society adult Regular Saver at 1.35% variable seems to be missing from the list.  Deposit £10-£500 a month, 12 month term. No withdrawals during term but interest paid up to any early closure.  Applications can be made by post, downloading form from their website.
I think this has been mentioned before - isn't it a faff to set this one up? Certified copies of ID etc??

"I am only including accounts where the interest rate is 1.5% or better, or 1% if the interest rate is fixed."

I never had to provide certified ID to the Scottish BS but you are right, it's a bit of a faff as it is a postal / Branch only account.

Yes that's right. Two of us here had to do that.

Even when this RS was closed early (and later another opened up) physical documents had to be sent again.

Scottish BS:  I opened my RS easily enough last year mailing original docs, nothing too precious or sensitive: a tax coding notice and a credit card statement. I've since secured longer term continuity of BS membership by opening a fixed rate bond, with no further ID needed. Based on that form, I'm hoping not to be asked for any more ID when my RS comes up for renewal shortly. Anyhow, I'll decline if they ask for more ID!

Scottish BS RS. Can anyone tell me if they have used the PO to verify their IDs? I phoned them today & was told the IDs have to be certified although I can't see why the PO would do this & how valuable can that be? Any advice would be good, thanks.

Thanks for that information. I had absolutely no idea that the post office provided that service. Not cheap, but a lot cheaper than a solicitor!!
