I am not looking to make withdrawals right away - but would be good to have the option.I did already specify a nominated current account when I opened the accounts, and can see that it shows up on the system though says “Awaiting Mandate”. Any idea what this means?0

Are they serious???? The next HSBC branch is ca. 40 miles away, since they closed the local one earlier in the year. Sent them now a secure message to check if there is another way. Paper is so old fashioned nowadays.
I am not going to download a statement, mark all the transaction black (not their business to know), go to the local library to get a statement printed and paying at a post office to certify that copy. If that's what they need, they can very well keep their accounts.1 -
Monmouth B/Soc.
I wasn't asked to do that and there's nothing special or out of the ordinary about me. I just downloaded their nominated account form, completed it and posted it to them. I got notification they received it by letter. Try it, it might work.0 -
Also signed up with Monmouthshire online now. No aggro at all, just very quaint. I suggest they're not a Society for those who want everything in an instant but all my accounts were opened in a timely manner ( ~1 week from application to receipt of passbook). Took 3 weeks for the activation code to arrive but when it did I was assured to see all my deposits were accounted for (not that I had any real doubt). My only call was dealt with very quickly and professionally by a friendly Welsh chap. All quite lovely really!6

Give it a doing with your marker pen and send it off.

Then it looks as though they have changed their process since I sent my form in, which was around April this year.
You could always photocopy your bank statement and send them the original. Then you wouldn't need to get it certified.0 -

I got a different letter again for MonBS - I finally received My Accounts login details (although one funded account seems to have gone astray, so have tried to add manually). At the bottom of the letter it says As part of your registration, you submitted your bank details to allow withdrawals to your nominated bank account. Please complete the enclosed 'My Accounts' Nominated Bank Account Form* and please note we will also require evidence in the form of an original or certified copy of your bank statement.
*I wasn't actually sent any form or details, only a single A4 letter with the Web user ID.0 -

I opened the Loyalty ISA in March 23, and the Loyalty RS last week. Two different branches. On each occasion, I did not have an account that had been open for a year, but I have been a member continuously for 16 years.
Your opinion is inaccurate and unhelpful, as it could put people off from applying.0
