    Happy Birthday Miss Pooky

Scuzz - what a nightmare - hope you get the cats sorted asap.

Wet start here this morning. DD not going to school again today - she had 2 days off last week - I feel bad but last week she had a bladder infection and a temperature and today she has a sore throat and a temperature. Will have to remember to ring the school in a minute.

Today normal mixture of office work and housework, will be hitting the housework this morning and hope to spend a couple of hours in the office this afternoon. Loads of washing to be done also.

Off for a quick surf before I start.

    Morning all:wave:

First a bit of a catch up on yesterday's thread:

tired mum how awful for your son. I hope things are better at school now he has stood up to them. Bullies are cowards.:grouphug: Hugs to you and your ds

:grouphug:Hugs to to your SIL and nephew cheerfulness4. My DD would go to High School next September but I don't think I could send her. I've seen how these children act and it's not pleasant.

I'm glad you have come to a decision that feels right penny-pincher. When I made the decision to defer, the relief I felt made me realise how much pressure I was putting myself under.

Hope your girls are feeling much better today Harribo.

    Back to today.

Yet another mouse in the trap today and more poison taken:mad:

I'm still feeling out of sorts, with no get up and go at the moment. One of the side effects of the medication I take is constipation, and I am really suffering with it right now [insert violin smilie here :D ] The doctor's prescribed laxatives but I'm a bit worried I might not make it when I need to go:eek:

DD2's chest is playing up still, and she had another asthma attack last night, so I will be keeping an eye on her. I've put loads of tubs of water around the house, as I'm sure it's the dry heat system that aggravates her.

I managed to finish the christmas shop with asda, and that will be delivered tomorrow afternoon. All I will need to get now is fresh produce, milk and bread, so that's good:T

I reheat chinese redruby, others will say the rice can't be reheated but I think that's what happens when we buy ready meals. I've never had any upset stomachs from doing so but you would perhaps need to go with your own instincts.

Happy birthday _party_ Miss Pooky _party_

Scuzz :grouphug: to you. What a nightmare - hope things are better today!

Good news about the car taplady. Is your son ok now, after what happened?

I sympathise with the back pain JenniO. Try not to aggravate it further, everything in slow motion for a couple of days.

Hope your daughter feels better after a day of dvd watching dlb

Well, I've a load to go in the WM and I'm making a stew for tonight so want to get the ingredients in the slow cooker.

:grouphug:HUGS :grouphug:to all who need or want them. Hopefully I will pop back later.

    Have a good day all

    Love Pipkin xxxx

First of all, MASSIVE :grouphug: to PenPen, PenPin, tiredmum, Scuzz and everybody else who is struggling with health, family, bullies and other things at the min.

High Peak Lass - ooooh I love the chips at the Lantern Pike, though it's probably a good 3 years since I was last in there!! Used to know a few people who worked in there too! Isn't it a small world. I'll give you the £2.50 - it's not FAR from Chapel Milton, but on the Whaley side rather than the Chinley side of Chapel, the money is because I used to work and drink in the pub at Chapel Milton, therefore basically lived there :rotfl:

Well, I got to the old flat last night to find that the "few little bits" that exOH said were still there amounted to 3 carloads  and none of it was boxed, most of it still being in cupboards and drawers  so what should just have been a quick clean of all the rooms turned into a mammoth packing session before we could even start, didn't finish up there until 10ish, then had to unload his stuff at his new place (but I'm no idiot - I volunteered to empty the cars whilst he and his new flatmate carried it all to the 2nd floor :rotfl:). Then we went to drop the present round at our friends, when he realised that in the move he had lost the card  I had left it specifically out on the kitchen side when i moved so that it didn't get lost  Anyway, it was gone 12.30 when I got in and I had to get up at 6 for work, and I hadn't had any tea and it was too late to start cooking anything :(

Today I have the dentist at 1.30 so am on a half day here... Hopefully I won't need my jaw amputating :rotfl: Typically, the pain that has had me in agony since Fri evening has now died down... or I'm getting used to it anyway... But I'm not missing out on this appointment!! No plans for food today - I have several options but want to wait and see what the evil dentist lady does first!!!

Payday &Friday tomorrow - my favourite combination!! Love to all xxx
  • Wow, lots going on on here today. I'm sorry I haven't had a chance yet to read yesterday's thread but hugs to all those who are suffering <big hug>.

Well add me to the list of sick people :( I woke up yesterday absolutely smothered in a mysterious itchy lumpy rash and feeling totally awful. Got an appointment with the doc yesterday afternoon who said it was an allergy of some sort, but to what ? haven't used anything new and only ever cook from scratch so the plot thickens.

Still lumpy and itchy this morning but am waiting for the piriton to kick in, I hope it works soon since I'm going away to Germany tomorrow with my friends to the Christmas markets. We've been saving up all year for this so I would be devastated if I couldn't go. I'll keep taking the tablets :rotfl:

NOt sure how today is going to pan out now, I have to go into town for petrol and to post off a couple of Advent calendars and although OH did the shopping for me yesterday, there's one or two crucial things he forgot so I need to pick those up too.

Have a great day everyone. Many hugs to all.

    Good Morning All

Happy Birthday to Pooky's DD - hope she has a lovely day!
redruby - it is ok to re-heat chinese, make sure its piping hot though
scuzz - (((hugs))) - I think its a little inconsiderate for your sis to put you through this!
moiliere - Im sure DS & GF appreciated the dinner. I know I would!
taplady - have fun painting! I love painting, cant do wall papering.
    Pen-pen - (((hugs)))
Dlb - hope DD is better soon! Bless her!

What a nightmare we had last night. OH's mum rang him to say she bumped into his ex wife in town, and she asked if he would write a letter authorising his pass port to be processed as she & new partner wants to take him on holiday! She changed his surname a few years ago, and because its different to his birth cert, they need Oh's permission! He wants to write the letter for his son! But only if she starts letting him seeing him! Doubt that will ever happen! Apparently she told his mum she will be round on Sunday to collect it.Cant believe this is the same woman who gave us grief early on this yr about CSA and called the police on us!

Meal tonight was going to be, creamy chicken in mushrooms with pasta, but I used the pasta up the other night and forgot to replenish. So it'll be chicken curry & oven chips!

This week is going quick! Still got lots to do/buy in order to be organised for Christmas! OH hopes to get the out side lights up at the wk end.

Anyway, best get ready for work
    Have a great day all

  • Morning all,

Tiredmum - hugs to you and your ds. My ds1 was physically attacked last June in his last few days of primary schoolon the back of a situation that had been ongoing for 2.5 years. I still can't look at the parents of the kids involved without wanting to scream at them - and like others said, bullying policies are no good if they're just down on paper.

Scuzz - hope you get the cats into a cattery asap
PenPen -hope your friends are ok
dlb - thinking of you with all that yucky washing

Lovely morning here - about to go and clear the lawn of dog poo so that ds1 can mow it later - he's on a half day - heehee - he doesn't know that's waiting. At 10 I'm off to a local charity who were looking for volunteers - I'm hoping to work in their cafe - but I have this horrible feeling that if I let on I'm an accountant, I'll end up in the office! I'd much rather make cakes!

Dinner is going to be something and rice - the something depends on what I find in the freezer:D - I know there's mince in so I might make chilli.

Early night tonight - dh is still trying to get rid of the dreaded lurgy - but Thurs night is the one night we don't have anything on:T

    Have a good day.

Just popped back in with a coffee.

Massive (((hugs))) to all of you who are unwell - there seems to be such a lot of illness at the moment, so I hope everyone feels a lot better soon.

PIPKIN - Well done on catching mice! If you're constipated, have you tried eating prunes? You can buy them in tins in any supermarket and they're delicious. I've never known them to fail when I've recommended them! Also, they're completely natural so won't have any side effects bar the one you want.

ROZ - good luck at the dentist. Although the pain has died away, the problem will still be there so it's good that you're going today.

MRSFLITTERSNOOP - I do hope you don't have to miss your trip to Germany; it would be such a shame. If you go, have a great time.

CRAZY - that does sound like a nightmare situation.

Well, better get on with the wrapping up!

    See you later.

    Morning all,

tired mum, I hope your ds is ok today and that the bullies will be dealt with properly. It’s appalling that any child should have to go through what he’s been through.
Pen Pen, that must have been awful for your friends. I hope they’re ok.
dlb, I hope your dd feels better soon.
Mrs Flittersnoop, with luck the piriton will do its job quickly and you’ll have a great time in Germany.
Roz, good luck at the dentist.
Penny Pincher, I hope you feel better now that you've come to a decision about your studies.
scuzz, that sounds like a nightmare! I hope you get the cats into a cattery soon.
Haribo, I hope the girls are feeling better today and that dbil is none the wiser about what was on his face! ;)
Happy Birthday to little Miss Pooky. :bdaycake:

It’s a beautiful day here…bright sunshine and very cold. Sadly it shows the state of my windows (Mrs Macawber would be horrified!) so that’s the first job of the day for me. Then I need to clean out the fireplace, dust the living room and vacuum. Later I’m meeting a friend for coffee in town and then the usual fun filled afternoon with homeworks and tea. I picked up a couple of reduced packs of stir fry vegetables yesterday so it will be a stir fry of some sort. Then work this evening…only two more nights to go until I’m off for a week! :j

I hope you all have a good day.
