Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednessday 29th November. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and
motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Can't believe no one has started this yet! Now it looks like Charlies_Mum :hello:and I clashed, I was going to delete mine, but redruby (Morning:hello:) has added so I too will leave it to the mods to merge us! Probably caused by me having to re-boot as my connection was so slow.

Well I bought a new Power Supply for the 4 year old desktop (didn't realise it was so old) but that hasn't fixed the problem, looks like it could be the motherboard. Wonder if Aldi will have another desktop on offer before Xmas??

Kitchen virtually finished, awaiting the hob and extractor I have ordered (and prepared to wait for to save >£200) 1 handle, and the top filler strip, this has been left off so DH can emulsion the ceiling without having to mask it up. I want to purchase a new light to replace the flourescent as it does not go with the modern look. Will go to the Ring factory shop at Leeds, as they are a fraction of the B&Q Focus prices etc. Will be filling the cupboard back up today (cleaned out last night:j ) and seeing if I can get everything back:eek: so regain the house. The builder will be back in a fortnight to repair/re-arrange the side bedroom and finish the kitchen.

:grouphug: tired_mum:grouphug: I know we have talked before and this a long going problem. At least know the teachers know he is the victim, as he has been persecuted wrongly in the past.

:grouphug:scuzz and everyone else who'd like one:grouphug:

Enjoy the falling down stuff moiliere :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Take care everyone - DG

Just read the end of yesterdays thread Pen-Pen frightening isn't it - hope your friends are OK

Can't believe I'm first, where are you all ? Bet by the time I have finished typing, someone else has opened the daily, so please delete mine if necessary

Well, a friend brought me some Kitchen magazines as I am replacing ours in the New Year. Some were fantastic, but do people really spend £40,000 on a kitchen

Very dark again today, but then it is only 4 weeks until Christmas, sorry anyone who didin't want reminding

Hugs to Tired Mum, hope DS has a better day at school today, and Pen Pin, hope your friends are OK after their ordeal.

Hope everyone has a good day, and hugs to those who don't :grouphug: x

Oops, Donny and I clashed, don't know how to delete, so will leave to the clever Mods

Thanks again for birthday wishes for Ruby yesterday, we had a great day, chineese was lovely, and we have loads left, is it ok to re-heat it?

Pooky, I think its your DD's birthday today ? Happy birthday Miss Pooky (if I have remembered correctly )

Tired mum, just read about your DS, hope things start to improve now.

Off to w**K today, only half day because DD has the orthodontist (sp), so only in for a while, will have a quick swish round this morning

Pouring with rain here, no chance of getting any washing out.

    Morning All

Having an absolutely awful time at the moment. Work's not going well and the whole sister's cat situation is a nightmare. Went round yesterday to find the kitchen flooded where the boiler's broken. We've switched off the electric and gas and we're going to try and get the cats in a cattery today as they've now had their boosters. We haven't even heard from sis since she left for her holiday. I can't believe she went.

Fell asleep in front of the tv last night. Must've been shattered as I've not done that in ages.

The kitchen's taking shape, and we've just got use of the oven back so it was pizza for dinner last night.

Jobs for later - find friend's birthday present. It's somewhere at home, but where I can't remember!

    Hope everyone's ok

Hi DONNY-GAL - I tried to start it but suddenly realised I should be waking DH up to go to work. Anyway, good morning to you and all who follow!

Just read the rest of yesterday's thread and now I can't remember whose friends were held up in their shop at knife-point yesterday, but I'm sending lots of (((hugs))) to them.

TIRED MUM - good luck to DS at school today, though I wouldn't blame him if he doesn't want to go. I would seriously consider the police, though, after all this time. Schools are always boasting about their 'anti-bullying' policy but, time and time again, you hear dreadful stories of children whose lives are made a misery by it. (((Hugs))) to him - I think he's very brave to have put up with it for so long - a thousand times braver than the cowards who are bullying him.

Well, my sister and her DH phoned last night to say they are coming up for the weekend. It'll be great to see her, although a bit more notice would not have gone amiss! I have to hastily wrap up presents for them to take back. It's her birthday on Sunday so it will be nice to share it with her, and a few bottles of the falling-down stuff.

DS2 and his GF called round last night, right on dinnertime, but, luckily, I had made a huge sausage casserole so there was plenty to go round and it saved her having to cook when they went home. She's a science teacher in her first year and has tons and tons of work to do out of school hours, lesson planning and so on, so it was great to be able to cook for her. Once she's completed this first year, it will be less stressful.

Dinner tonight is going to be something simple - pork chops with mash, veg and gravy, and a piece of bread pudding for pud. I have loads to do today, now that I have visitors coming. So, really, I should not be sat on here! WM is on and BM is on so I've made a start.

Anyway, (((hugs))) to all poorly and stressed people here and see you later.

SCUZZ - hope you manage to get the cats into a cattery soon. What a nightmare - your sister really should not have gone leaving problems with the boiler. It will be better for the cats to be in a cattery, anyway, with things the way they are. Hope work gets better for you soon.

Scuzz, I hope your sister rewards you well for the cat sitting -what a nightmare.

A nice day planned today -OH has the day off and we are going out to lunch (early birthday treat). I'm hoping to nip to Tesco after breakfast before we go into town to buy me new shoes- my old ones have completely fallen apart, am also hoping that OH will walk the kids to school.

Must go and get them their porridge.
Supper tonight will be chickpeas, veg and chorizo stew. I'm actually sticking to my meal plan this week.

Morning all! Thanks for all your lovely comments yesterday!

HUGS to all those who need it!

Well my god when it rains it pours doesn't it? Yesterday managed to get rid of the headache from hell and then yesterday afternoon managed to pull the ligaments in my lower back bending over with a few library books I wanted to return! Its an old back injury that rears its ugly head a few times a year. So basically i'm stuck in bed today, maybe tomorrow and the next day........sounds like an easy life but not when you're in pain and had other plans

Hope everyone has a good day today. Tomorrow is Friday after all!!!:T
