Thanks for the birthday wishes. It's raining here and looks like we are in for the day with it.I hope the meds kick in for foot soon theluckofthedraw. Your not having a lot of luck with that foot are you? I have a few items to pick up at shops later, hope they haven't sold out, lol. My son's partner is having a lot of abuse at work because they have sold out of handgel. They have plenty of signs up about it but she had to keep calling one of the managers over to deal with the customers.
Thanks for the link leanfun,i did go and have a look earlier.
I was working yesterday and just chasing tail all the time, we just never seemed to get what we wanted done. I was glad to get home. I am off today then back tomorrow.
Hope you all have a good weekend.

    Afternoon,

It is a beautiful day here, sun shining away and no wind! DD coming tonight so looking forward to catch up.
Glad you are off for your birthday indie, have a sneaky feeling it is a special one!
DS3 started work this morning (I hope!) He was offered work at Wick (near John O'Groats!) but although he was going to go he wasn't happy at leaving his gf. They have found him work half an hour away from her now, back in Auchterarder which he knows well as Gleneagles just up the road. Just hope the holiday makers keep up their holidays or people will be out of work. We are meaning to do all ours although not going abroad.
Was shocking to see the empty streets in Italian cities. Such a shame for businesses.
DS! who lives in Sydney had to send his staff away to work at home because someone in the building is suspected of having Corona Virus. He says it is mental over there with people panicking.
    Anyway must get on.

Happy birthday sheils, hope you have a good day.
My special one was last year, lol. But to be honest i still feel like i am 21. It's when i look in the mirror and see everything has gone southwards that reminds me i am getting older, lol. Glad your son has found work and lets hope they don't start staying away from restaurants and like my son works in the cinema they could start staying away from there. It is a worry just waiting to see what happens. A lad at work has had his flight cancelled on the 21st of this month. He had a text from BA yesterday so he is not happy.
Thanks for the wishes leanfun.Hope you make the shops today. I am at work so busy day for me.
Hope you all have a lucky day
  • Hi all,
Hope you had a good birthday Indie.  Happy birthday Sheils also, glad your son is on the mend and found a job.
Leanfun - hope shopping trip goes ok looking at the news and online there will be nothing left at this rate!  crazy shoppers.  I don't remember us panicking when we had swine flu or Japanese flu in 2018?  its all gone mad.  Noticed in Daily Mail in London people getting sprayed with disinfectant before going in shops, , and wearing gas masks on the tube LOL.
I'm plodding on ok tablets seem to be working back for re dressing at walk in tomorrow. Looking forward to going out tomorrow even if it is only food shopping sick of these  4 walls!
Enjoying the start of cruft's on TV

thanks for the birthday wishes the luckofthedraw.Hope the weather is good for your outing tomorrow, i expect you don't care as long as you get out, lol. Thanks for reminding me crufts is on now. I knew it was this month but not when it started.
My sons GF will have fun when she goes to work today as the Tesco's she works in is huge, let's see if they have run out of various items.
Work was ok as i was on the residential floor and they do most things themselves. I came home to a win, a book on twitter comps that was a nice surprise.I am back to work tomorrow.
Hope you all have a good weekend

    Good Morning,
Thanks for the birthday wishes. I had a lovely day with flowers, chocs, champagne etc. DD made a wonderful meal of chicken in a creamy garlic sauce with fancy potatoes, followed by homemade Banoffee pie.  Well “back to the old clothes and porridge” as my granny used to say!
I haven’t been shopping last few days but did buy toilet paper last time I was in Tesco , just because we needed it! Always have pasta in house too. Not sure why people are stocking up on toilet paper and water.
DD was saying a friend of hers was going to festival in France and it has been cancelled but obviously they have everything else booked. Big group of them just arranging to go anyway. DD had been asked to go with them before but had decided not to go.
Hope your foot gets better soon luckofthedraw.
Won £2 on GfK media yesterday so luck not completely gone!

    Morning
Welcome back Katie, you must have had a shock at the way the forum has changed, lol. We are all trying to get use to it,but sure we will in time.Good luck with the comps.
Glad you had a good birthday sheils. It's lovely of your DD to cook you a meal.Food always tastes better when someone else cooks it. I went shopping saturday and saw the loo roll and pasta shelves were empty. Why toilet rolls i can't understand as the virus don't give you a runny bummy but the other end of the body.It causes vomiting so why stock loo roll i don't know. As the saying goes "nought as strange as folk".
Work was ok ,i was on the top floor, nursing.Glad i wasn't on the residential as they have  a D &V breakout. So it's closed off to visitors. I am off till weds so time to catch up with washing and shopping and housework.
Hope you all have a lucky day.
  • Morning everyone,
Glad you enjoyed your birthdays Indie and Sheils.  Meal sounds lovely Sheils.
Welcome back Katie, hope  you are keeping well and finding your way around the new site.

My shopping trip went ok just got the usual .   Thankfully we don't let cupboards, freezer etc rundown so just top up when we go out shopping.  Panic buying is silly especially soap/ hand gels  - makes me wonder if people have never washed their hands before and just been pushed into it lol !!  The amount of loo roll houses must have must make them a fire risk  or selling them on for profit.  There will be comps soon for loo roll Lol
No wins here yet anyway :(
