Put mine up yesterday with my little grandson helping (4 in January).
He is soooo excited.0 -
Put mine up last Saturday cos I knew we would be really busy this weekend and next. Big mistake.
Hubby went out last night. Came home p***ed and tangoed with the tree then p***ed all over it and the presents.
Came down this morning to a lounge strewn with tinsel, baubles and top of tree nowhere to be found. Oh and a very large wet patch.
So much for saving time. Had to strip it all back. Shampoo the carpet. Put the tree back up.
Still it looks lovely now its up again and hubby is grovelling so all is well.0 -

Affordmylife - I bet you were thrilled about that! I'd have throttled My OH if he'd have done that! Poor you :eek:Our 1st baby is due 29th December 2007! :rudolf:
I'm hopeful that this get's me out of cooking Christmas dinner!
Baby Ruby arrived after 55 hours of labour & an emergency c section on Christmas Day at 14.41 weighing 6lb 6oz...And yes I did get out of cooking Christmas dinner!!:rotfl:0 -
Now I'm feeling like Mrs Scrooge!
I don't like to put my tree up until I've done my 'last clean-up before Christmas' plus I play a little game with my grandchildren. They ask about my tree and I tell them we can't afford one Then the weekend before Christmas they arrive and the tree is there all done and decorated. I then swear to goodness that the Christmas Elves must have felt sorry for me because it was there that morning when I got up! (It's 7 feet tall, has 4 sets of clear twinkling lights on, loads of gold ornaments (mostly from Wilkies/Asda) and a gorgeous gold-coloured skirt around the base - no other colours for me. Those elves are sure generous :T )
This year my cat will be swinging from the ceiling fan if I catch him trying to climb the darn thing - like he did last year!
Affordmylife - he's lucky the lights weren't switched on when he did THAT!0 -
Mine went up last Saturday! We only ever have a piddly little thing, but this year they had 25% off in Tesco and I got a 6 footer for 7.10. Got all the lights on and starting to feel very Christmassy!

We're putting our decs up today after a mammoth house tidy. We'll be listening to Christmas music whilst we slave away!
Then this evening we're have a "film night" watching Elf on C4, with cola, popcorn, crisps and sweets surrounded by our festive house!
