No, not yet, my witness statement is not due until September 25th!Coupon-mad said:That's good.
Haven't you already put the WS in though? Can't add evidence now unless you slip in a supplementary, short WS with those photos 'to assist the court'.1 -

@Coupon-mad where you have referenced the Excel V Smith case, do I need to append the full transcript of this case or just the relevant excerpts? TIA0
-
There are only 6 pages of the transcript. Append it in full, gives it much greater weight than appending snippets.blancswann said:@Coupon-mad where you have referenced the Excel V Smith case, do I need to append the full transcript of this case or just the relevant excerpts? TIAPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hi, all I have left to do is calculate my expenses. Is there any info/advice on what I can claim for?0
-
Have they acted unreasonably IYO? If so research claims for unreasonable behaviour under CPR27.14(2)(g), This a a very hard one to get past a judge so you would have to be on top of your game. iYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.2
-
Yes, loads. Have you looked for them?
Normal costs you can always claim are limited to £95 for a day off work OR loss of leave. £47.50 for a half day, plus parking and transport
UNREASONABLE costs is harder. Read 27.14(2)(g) to see what we mean. You have to demonstrate unreasonable behaviour. If you do you can unlock costs at the LIP rate of £19ph. You break down your hours spent writing a defence into noe sum, hours writing WS into another, etc. Break. It. Down. A single total amount will get dismissed.4 -
So you haven't read the advice by Loadsofchildren linked in the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum ??blancswann said:Hi, all I have left to do is calculate my expenses. Is there any info/advice on what I can claim for?
Nor have you been following other recent court case threads where they have been given the same advice as above , plus quite a few have shown us their summary costs assessment
How can anyone produce the document without proper research ? It's been done numerous times on here , I don't even have a court case but have seen all these basic questions being answered and examples posted1 -
Thanks for that helpful response! I'm self employed and have lost hundreds of pounds in income because I've spent hours/days reading court cases and scrolling through endless other peoples cases and when I tried to search for something on expenses, nothing obvious came up - I'm sorry if I've missed it, but I'm just about at the end of my tether! I have read the Newbies thread but that was probably 12 months ago when this all started and you can only absorb the bits you need to do at that stage. Maybe the Newbies thread should start with - Do not begin this process unless you are willing to dedicate days of your life, not to mention the stress and the thought of going to court, to it. Equating to losing far more than the £60 fine !!!!!!! But anyway we are where we are.Redx said:
