Plusnet not prepared to haggle / leaving for Post Office

Hi all,
I've been with Plusnet for about 15 years and service had been good in that time. I signed up for a 12m contract last year for fibre at £22/mo Inc line rental which seemed pretty competitive at the time.
My contract is now up and they offered 27/mo for the renewal. I thought I'd try to haggle them to a new customer price (£23/mo) with the threat of moving to the Post Office (at 20.95/mo with similar terms) but they weren't interested.
I'm a little worried about moving especially as the PO uses talk talk (or so I've been informed) but does anyone have an opinion/ way forward on this?

The way pricing has been recently don't be loyal, come to end of contract, just move, going via a cashback referral as well, might.get down to about £10 or 12 a month overall.
I've done EE Sky and Plusnet twice each in the last 8 years.1 -
I find best time to call Customer Options team, or use live chat is first thing Plusnet are open for business. ie. 8am.
They usually pick up within a few minutes.
If you phone them at 'peak times', then you are in for a long wait.....
Plusnet's normal retention deal is something like £7 pm PLUS line rental (£19.99 ?) for Unlimited Fibre for 18 months.
I thought under new Ofcom rules to shortly come into effect (definitely from March), existing customers should not be paying more than a new customer. eg. £23.99 pm for Unlimited Fibre and £27.99 pm for UF Extra for 18 months?
Have you considered Line Rental Saver is also worth around £2.50 pm discount for 12 months.
You may have to place an order with another ISP, then give Plusnet a call a day or two later. Once they receive notification you will be moving to new ISP in 14 days, they may be more generous.
Good luck.1 -
PO i would check a number of posts on here first.

Thanks all.I've signed up with Now BB which appears to have some reasonable reviews (I think it is Sky) and it was cheaper than Plusnet or BT (same ownership, I believe) @ £25pm.I'll try Plusnet again in a few days as they've not really got to go much to match this but I feel a lot better that I'll have something approaching a similar level of Cust Service than I would of had I gone to TT or it's brands.Finger's crossed, anyway.0

When I phoned the number provided in PN's renewal email a couple of weeks ago, I was told that they couldn't give me a better deal than the one in the email - a £4 per month increase. There is a different number on PN's "Thinking of Leaving Plusnet" web page, so I tried that the following day. Straight away they offered to extend my current deal for another 18 months. It's worth phoning again.1

My renewal is due with Plusnet & the best offer they could give me was for an 18 month contract, but I’m thinking of moving to John Lewis Broadband which guess who supplies them..... well well Plusnet! Going to call back at a later date, the sales guy wasn’t very helpful!1

I say if Plusnet want to rip you off, leave.I switched from Plusnet last autumn. (I never got as far as negotiating a new deal with them - their phone lines were engaged and their website was buggy).1

Plusnet seem less inclined to haggle, my current deal has ended and I asked for a price for fibre BB & anytime calls, they offered about £8 per month more than Sky! I said why on earth would I stay with them and as they had no 'answer' have moved on.1
