Good idea to have some savings as well as paying off debt. By the time you’re debt free you’ll be in the habit of saving. I found it much easier to pay off debt than build up savings, it’s harder to find the motivation although I think I’ve just about cracked it now.
Totally agree with this. Paying debt is just like another bill, but paying savings is incredibly hard!

I think saving while paying off debt helps as you are so scared the debt will build back up if you don't. As SA says hopefully we will be well in the savings habit when we pay the last £ off. We count mortgage as debt too so we could be a while 🤣🤣

My puppy was planned (looks smug whilst trying not to look at 3 surprise kittens from 2 separate occasions 😬)

This pup was planned...now as for the kittens. My kittens are never planned but get hoisted on me by people who dont neuter their own responsibilities and then can't home them 😤
Lucky they know this mug provides a warm welcome and much love and food and after being treated like royalty think they are the boss - I'm looking at you pusscat*sigh*

Neither of our cats were planned. DD rescued the first one from a pet shop and the other one from a friend who wasn’t looking after her properly. And, dare I say it, ssh whisper, my DS wasn’t planned either, he just sort of happened 😬 In fact most of my life has been one unplanned thing after another, keeps me busy though 😆

It does make all my rescue cats fade into insignificance (Even the time I had eight) 🤣
