Well hello diary world. I thought I should come on and do a proper update it being 1st of the month and all that. Yes I know it's about time🥴
*. Debt - Payments have been ticking along nicely and we ended February with a total of £21,449.74. We have already made an overpayment of £110.55 this month and hope to make another later to ensure the balance is a nice round £21,000 or under at the end of March* Emergency Fund - Have put another £200 into premium bonds so the total is now £525.00. will try and keep adding at £200 a month until we get to £1,000.
*. Sinking funds - these were down very low but have been topped up again as we have another expensive month with home insurance due and if any problems with MOT. The service and Mot were paid for in Feb. Just got to pass now!
So all in all quite pleased with the progress. Not only are we paying down debt but are also saving for a rainy day and the annual expenses aka Sinking funds. Hopefully progress will continue and we can start hammering the debt once we have some savings behind us.Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

Good idea to have some savings as well as paying off debt. By the time you’re debt free you’ll be in the habit of saving. I found it much easier to pay off debt than build up savings, it’s harder to find the motivation although I think I’ve just about cracked it now.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

No good paying debt off then having to get in it again because something came up or the I wantsies took hold.
It's so refreshing to be able to pay for things without the worry of how long they will take to pay off.Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓
