Concert significantly cut. Refund?

I bought several tickets for several dates for a live show through ticketmaster/live nation.
The first night was great and was looking forward to bringing a friend to see the next one with closer more expensive tickets.
However large chunks of the show were cut out! To me most of the best bits! So basically I am far from happy with this. Paying near double amount for better tickets to see a show that was cut short in many places!
Ticketmaster have said their policy is to only refund for cancelled events.
This just don’t seem right or fair to me! How do I go about taking this further as these tickets were over £1000 and it’s not something I can easily afford and was put on the credit card!
Thanks in advance

The cut out being the "best" bits is very subjective
Had you not been to the first show, you likely wouldn't have known the difference.
It will very much depend on exactly what was advertised and what was delivered on the night.0 -
Highly unlikely, as already said it depends how it was advertised - keep in mind the advertisements rarely offer anything specific for concerts0

Not a chance.0

This is a world wide tour which no doubt would end up on dvd. Just don’t see why anyone should pay a premium price for an edited cut down version of the actual concert.
If I hadn’t seen the first show and then later found out what I missed I’d be even more p’d off!
There must some form of compensation for this? It’s the principle more than anything!😩😡0 -
When you say it was cut short, what was the comparative duration of the two shows?
Or did they cut out the bits you liked and replace them with something else? Or did the first one overrun and they were looking at cutting it to keep it to the planned length? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

What was the difference in run-time between the show you attended first and the second 'cut-down' one?0 -

As for the principle, I'd suggest that spending over £1000 that you can't easily afford on two concert tickets isn't a sound principle to begin with. That's an obscene amount of money for a gig, no matter what your personal financial situation. The artist in question clearly has no principles, so why do you expect them to kick in when you feel wronged?1 -

The length of the concert doesn't have much to do with the cost of them putting on the gig - they still have to hire the venue, transport their kit, check into hotels, etc. They're not going to then put on the concert and give everyone a refund.1 -
The first show I see was about 2.5 hours long.
The second had at least half hour cut out of the bits I noticed. Don’t remember all of first one as was a bit drunk and nipped to bar and toilet couple of times. didn’t mind missing bits because I was intending to watch it all again the next time from a much better position .
It may seem petty but I paid near double the price for the second show at over £500 each and was expecting to see all that I see on the first plus bits missed or not taken in from a premium priced seat. And after bigging it up to friend who found it mostly boring as most of what was happening was the artist talking I think there should be some form of compensation.
Why should anyone pay the same price as those who had the full experience only to be given a half arsed one instead!? Not to mention paying twice as much for it!0 -
Maybe being drunk made the first show seem better than it was....
You won't get a refund for not liking a show.1
