Where do I find that? Do I need to buy a converter box with HDMI.almillar said:OK - your TV has ARC on HDMI 2, so if your Polaroid system also has HDMI, you plug it in there.
The TV also has SPDIF (optical) out, so if you haven't got HDMI, use optical to get the sound from the TV to the Polaroid...0 -
It may be time to invest in something newer to go with your 4K tv.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

there are 2 leads Red and White which are connected to the red and white connection on the TVYou need to see how these are labelled. Are they an OUTPUT from the TV, and INPUT to the Polaroid box? That's what you want. I find it unlikely that a modern TV would have Phono (the red and white plugs) OUT.My son has checked it out and it doesnt have an HDMI lead and setting the audio to internjal speakers and Optical produces no sound. Can I buy a converter or lead HDMI to ARC.Stop.Don't buy anything. It looks like we can't use HDMI. Does your TV have an SPDIF out? Does the Polaroid have an SPDIF in? If the answer to both of those is yes, then get an SPDIF lead to connect them. SPDIF is optical. It may be time to invest in something newer to go with your 4K tv.Nothing wrong with optical.

We need to know what connections are available.Do you have SDPIF OUT on the TV and SPDIF IN on the Polaroid? If so, all you need is an optical cable.1

To be honest I am not sure of either. I was told on here that the TV that I have bought would have and all I know is that the polaroid system has 2 leads red and white which on the old TV connected into the same 2 plugs and sent the sound to the speakers. My son is coming around tomorrow so I will ask him to have a look. Sorry to be a pain but thanks for the advice I am sure that we will eventually overcome it. The problem with electric and sound is that one slight error stops it working unlike plumbing when you can see a leak, so the uninitiated like me struggle.0

I understand what you are saying but other people said differently and I nopticed that the box you highlighted on Amazon has outlets for 3 leads Red Yellow and White my equipment only has Red and white will not connecting the yellow make any difference.0

You only need the white and red they are the audio connections, the yellow is video which is not used when connecting to a sound system, in your case just ignore it and use the two audio output connectors.1

Thank you I will order one on Amazon0
