One other thing to remember is that most business sellers and private sellers who prefer not to queue at the PO use online postage, and many services don't actually have a weight stated, just the weight band. Mine for instance show parcels as being either up to 1kg or 1-2kg and yesterday I had a parcel that was 150g and nothing shows on the label at all and my manifest which basically is my receipt includes it as a parcel up to 1kg.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes, true. I was still thinking specifically in the context of special delivery, with it being described upthread as being high risk for a scam (presumably due to the high value)0 -

My special delivery doesn't have a weight on it either .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I think if I was selling something worth 20,000 I would take it there myself. And many companies do have their own vans they would use for such a delivery, whether or not pertaining to an eBay sale is a different question, but I know jewellery shops that have their own vans.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Mine is done online, I can get a receipt at the PO if I want to queue but they just scan my bar code and don't reweigh it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Spoonie_Turtle wrote: »The common scam (so far) seems to be that buyers claim they received an empty parcel - so showing the weight then clearly shows you didn't send it empty and covers you..0
