What is the best way to send a high value small item

I have just sold a small item for £320 and am now wondering which is the best way to post it.

I listed it with delivery given as 'other courier' so as to be able to leave my options open.

I'll need insurance.

I've charged £9.99 in the listing, but realise I'll probably end up paying more than this with the insurance factor added.

The parcel is small, 16 x 22 x 10 cm and weighs 350g

Any advice would be appreciated.

thank you

Royal Mail Special Delivery (Guaranteed by 1pm) is what I'd probably use.

Full tracking, signature on delivery and compensation up to £500.

You can send up to 20kg in weight and up to L61cm x W46cm x D46cm in size.

It is £7.40 for an item up to 500g (and more than 100g) with £500 compensation.

Some couriers be cheaper, but may list the item as not covered for compensation depending on what it is and couriers in some areas can be really bad. Others may be able to advise you best on which couriers are good to use for items of value, but Royal Mail is under the £9.99 and has a high enough compensation value for what you wish to send.

It might be worth filming it being put it the packaging at the post office.
The post office also offer tamper resistant bags.in addition I add a message not to,accept delivery If the package appears to have been tampered with

To show that the item was present and correct in the package at the time of handing it over to the Post Office, in case the recipient claims to have received an empty box/package or the wrong item.

Being a relatively high value item it’s high risk for theft/fraud.

Don't worry about doing that, I don't think the Post Office or any of the couriers/ebay would use that as evidence if anything went wrong.

It's the sender who'd use it as evidence.
