To show that the item was present and correct in the package at the time of handing it over to the Post Office, in case the recipient claims to have received an empty box/package or the wrong item.

Being a relatively high value item it’s high risk for theft/fraud.

Yes and there was a case just like that on mse.

    prove to who?
Who are you going to show the video to?

Presumably to the arbiter of any potential dispute, i.e. eBay or PayPal. It's in case the buyer claims they received an empty parcel and opens a case, when in fact they've received the parcel and just taken a photo of the empty packaging. And in the extremely unlikely event that they really were to receive an empty parcel, presumably it would then go to Royal Mail to investigate because the seller has proof they sent the actual item. [The former scenario being infinitely more likely than the latter, of course!]

Edit: Whether they'd even look at it is another issue altogether, but the idea is the seller doing everything they can to cover themselves.

Neither ebay or Paypal will view or take any notice of video 'evidence'

    You are assuming.
Where did 'I ' mention Ebay and PayPal ?
    Come on , try harder.
Perhaps you could provide a comprehensive list of everyone who wouldn't accept the evidence.( Or perhaps you'd like to try your usual "strawman" );)
    Have fun..

True, you didn't, but the other implication was that RM are likely to steal it, which I personally am far less inclined to worry about than unscrupulous buyers.

You may disagree, in which case you are entitled to do so but I shall leave it at that anyway.

Anyone who thinks a video showing a box being packed in a Post Office is evidence of anything hasn't watched a Zach King video.

Well unless the video showed you putting the item inside the box, taping it up securely, putting your label on, and then handing to the Courier/Post Office all in 1 go with no editing then no I don't think they would consider it as evidence.

Perhaps you could learn to use the quote button.
I didnt mention ebay or paypal to you at all.
I have asked you twice now who the video was for, your answer is "who do I think" then you disagree with my answer to another poster on just that.
So once again, who is the video for?

Going back to the original question...I'd go for RM Special Delivery.i recently sent something worth just under £20,000..it was fully insured and tracked. Cost was less than £8. The receipt will show the weight of the package (just in case the recipient claims it was an empty parcel..).
    #2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £366

Do you really mean that you sent a £20,000 item via RM special delivery? THis page suggests you were well over the higher insurance limit
