The start of week 2 for me today and i need some milk so will call into local shop with £2 to pick some up i refuse to go into town and buy stuff i do not need. I am sooo tempted to do a mrT shop with all the codes that are about atm but dont really need much in the way of food, could do with some soap powder, cat food and some other things but getting to the amount i need to spend means buying stuff i really dont need/ could get by without and there dont seem to be many bogof offers that i use mind you i thought the same last week so popped into my local iceland store and £42 later thought i should have just done the mr T's shop :rotfl: :rotfl: .
slightly off topic iwe had sc pork for dinner yesterday and there is masses left my meal plans are done for this week so i am at a loss as what to do with it, will it be safe to freeze it? or any one have any good tips on how to use it up and how long it will last in the fridge?0 -

Welcome jaycee :j. dontwanttobeindebt I know how you feel about looking at previous grocery bills. We spent near to £600 last december and there's only two of us if it makes you feel any better. Seriously though I am shocked at myself in some ways when I look back.
And Jacks, I currently can't resist Gethin Jones on Strictly Come Dancing. A Blue Peter presenter for heaven's sakes!!! Will watch out for same difference tho
Yep. he's definitely got that boyish twinkle thing happening too! (and Blue Peter isn't quite so squeaky clean these days - huh?!)
Where's the icon for "Yummy" though!?
:EasterBun
(closest I could find!)
I don't feel old either, but at 38 I'm pretty sure lots of people think I am. (I can remember when I thought 30 was old!)
A BIG    to the newbies! It's tricky time of year to start the GC so take it easy on yourselves.
It's blimmin freezing here so I'm off to make a hot :coffee: and grab another cardi!
(see - I'm even talking like an old lady now!)

Just been to Lidl and have now got enough food to last me until the end of the month except for fresh stuff which will be the chore for some of the men in my life on Christmas eve.
Spent €103.85 so maybe about €100 left I think
Good luck to all

Well, I have ordered from Mr T, to be delivered at the end of the week. Thanks to a discount code, I have come in under £100, so I am well chuffed, particularly since that included some (on offer) chocs for all the teachers and support assistants at DS1's school. I am going to investigate the contents of the freezer thoroughly this week, and will analyse the shopping receipt to see if I can see any areas where I can cut down further ( I have a feeling it might be the crisps budget - there may be a revolution amongst my DSs!!). I have already swapped to own brand washing powder and fabric conditioner, and it's much nicer than Persil and Lenor - and has a better smell. Any other tips appreciated.Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Hi, I havent joined any of the challenges so far, but circumstances here have changed and I have been on SSP for about 8 weeks, and looks like anther 8 ahead at least....With myself, 14year old son, and now two 19year old girls, with their new babies, 9weeks, and 10days? What would be a realistic amount a month, and would I have to include the nappies etc in that?
Girls still to get their money sorted out, but I hope they will pay £20 a week, Plus nappies if I include them? I was spending around £100 a week, for 3 of us when I was working, but cant do that anymore. Any suggestions to start me off, (I have last weeks tesco delivery which was £79.38 already all value line stuff. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi MrsMcawber,
I tried soups, but he reckons, the flasks don't hold it warm enough....
I do believe, some of it is in his mind! He does nibble all day long, but usually, his box is finished by 11ish....
By the by, whereabouts are you in good old germany?I wish Germany had a website like moneysavingexpert!0 -
We have to sit down and do our Mr T order tonight. It will take us over the christmas period. But hopefully it won't be too bad.
I've already spend another £7.47 on bread, infant milk and nappy desinfectant.
Off to update my signature.
