Mike you might as well just
:wall: :wall: for all the notice us girlies are going to take. :rotfl: :rotfl: I agree men are better than women at some things... moaning, blowing their own trumpet... :rotfl: :rotfl: maybe DW took so long shopping when you were with her so as not to prove you wrong!!! an ego thing for your benefit!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:lol As for using logic not emotion had you really used logic you wouldn't have come to that conclusion.:p
Anyway maybe DW didn't like shopping and has cunningly got you to do it. Just teasing Mike. Personally I'm great at shopping you ask my OH, he says he spends many an hour watching me trail round the supermarket.
Moniker, I don't think you can use vouchers on MySupermarket but when you are finished your shop they will transfer you to the supermarket of your choice and you can use vouchers on checkout. At least that what I do with Mr T and Ocado, don't know about other supermarkets though.
Thanks for the tip BG23. I did this on Saturday when making pork rissoles making one for DW containing only pork and breadcrumbs and adding onions and a little hot chili powder to the rest. Result seemed to be OK.

How old is old these days? Maybe I am old...I do feel it after some serious overdoing it on the wine last night.
Welcome jaycee :j. dontwanttobeindebt I know how you feel about looking at previous grocery bills. We spent near to £600 last december and there's only two of us if it makes you feel any better. Seriously though I am shocked at myself in some ways when I look back.
And Jacks, I currently can't resist Gethin Jones on Strictly Come Dancing. A Blue Peter presenter for heaven's sakes!!! Will watch out for same difference tho0 -

Up to date, We have spent £100.98.
Now that my parents are gone back to germany, I hope to spend less on the rest of the month. (My dad only eats fatty-yuck- foods and sweets. Due to an illness he had, and the doctors says, he should just eat what he wants..... But he can afford it, as he weighs around 55kg and is 1.73m tall!)
Can anyone help with ideas for lunchboxes? Hubby takes lunchboxes to work. But they don't have microwaves there and he gets sick of always the same food. Also, is it cheaper to make your own muesli bars?
Good luck to everyone

Hi there Egon
will your hubby take flasks of soup and homemade bread? my hubby started taking this when the weather turned cooler - and takes it every day.. i just try and make batches of different soups and freeze them up so he gets plenty of variety...and you would be amazed how cheaply you can do it for...
I do various veg based ones, chicken n sweetcorn, chicken noodle, cream of mushroom, oxtail, amongst others... all made up as i go along...
hubby reckons its lovely, keeps him warm all day -and also he can spread it out through the day, rather than eating just a lunch time...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Big shop this weekend which has eaten up my remaining grocery money so I will be requiring the cash left from last month to top up milk, etc. The freezer buys on their own will probably see us through to end of January.
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Spent just over £16 at Morrisons topping up bread, milk and baking goods. Have quite a pantry full so am pleased. The chest freezer is proving an amazing success! Instead of pigging on extras we are freezing them for further meals. I think we have quite a few for next months grocery challenge already.
Just found out that from next month I will be paid weekly. Hmmm gonna have to be a bit more organized I think for January now. :rolleyes:MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

OK, just returned from the main weekly shop. Did pretty well I think and should only need some milk now until next week. As long as I get off here and do some baking that is!
Also managed to strike up conversation with checkout assistant. Apparently all reduced goods are down to 9p each in the evening about 1/2 hour before closing..... think I might have to wander along for a few days and see what is available.0
