MIF grace period between jobs?

What if somebody is getting pressure to earn the minimum income floor and they finally achieve it, then they lose their job,
What are the requirements for the 1 year grace where you don’t get pressured to earn the MIF?
How long do you have to have been earning the MIF to get the grace period again?

The thing about chaos is, it's fair.

I don't understand. The MIF is for self-employment :huh:0 -

I’m not talking about self employed
I’m talking about a couple working but still not earning the MIF
They finilly reach the MIF for a little while then one loses job
Have they got a year grace again
What are the times needed? The thing about chaos is, it's fair.0 -
The MIF only applies to people who are self employed so if you are not talking about the self employed there is nothing to say about the MIF.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

Think they mean the CET ( conditonality earnings threshold). If they earn enough during a qualifying period, a grace period is calculated, where the benefit cap is not applied.
So question is about benefit cap grace period i think.
If not, then I have no clue what they are asking about. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
If the question is about the benefit cap then they might wish to read this

Or

Are you sure the MIF only applies to self employment?
What if both in the couple only have part time jobs?Nothing has been fixed since 2008, it was just pushed into the future0 -
So you are not affected by the benefit cap if you get Universal Credit and you and your partner earn more than £569 a month combined, after tax and National Insurance contributions.
But you are expected to try to earn more?
My question is are you pressured to earn the minimum income floor?
If neither of you do get up to the MIF then what will happen? And how long have you got?Nothing has been fixed since 2008, it was just pushed into the future0 -

Yes I am sure. If people are employed the MIF does not apply, it only applies to self employed people. As huckster says OP may be mixing up the MIF and the CET.

Thanks so what if a couple is only working part time jobs a few days a week between them just enough to make the benefit cap not apply, IE working 16 hours a week at the national living wage – which is £569.22 a month currently ((£8.21 x 16 x 52) / 12)?
There is no pressure to earn more like the MIF?Nothing has been fixed since 2008, it was just pushed into the future0 -

You are mixing up MIF and earnings thresholds.
The MIF is an amount that self employed people are assumed to earn if they actually earn less.
Earnings thresholds affect your UC requirements. See http://data.parliament.uk/DepositedPapers/Files/DEP2019-0980/2._Administrative_and_Conditionality_Earnings_Thresholds_v3.0.pdf
